FULLY WARRANTIED BY SELLER- peace of mind guaranteed with 30 days money back. Olympus IF type 8D3-20(s/n2500021) Borescope. This has a fairly long reach- the length is ~ 6' for the viewing tube and ~5' for the light tube. The diameter is ~1/4"for the viewing tube and ~5/16" for the light tube end. Cosmetic condition: The pictures should show the external conditions. Call or email if there is any question. A light source is not included- the illumination photograph was made with just a flashlight as a light source. Neither the viewing or illumination tubes have any crushed or badly distorted areas- there are a few frayed braids in the flexible tip area. Functional condition: The tip up/down and side/ side deflections are ~45 degrees. Some slightly less and some slightly more. The locking functions are ok. The image clarity ... moreis good- there are fairly few broken fibers and they are quite'spread out' one of the pictures(as clear as we can make it) is meant to show the actual'black dots' That picture should also show a sort of a'curved/ tapered/ dark shadow line' going across the image. Upper left to lower right- it is light and we don't think it would cause any operational problems(it is not a'broken fiber' sort of thing- we cannot explain it) The picture was taken of a sheet of lined paper illuminated by a flashlight- the upper left lighter area and the lower right darker area are caused by the uneven flashlight beam and a shadow on it. The illumination and focusing are good- we can focus on a part of one letter in a newspaper or the house across the street. The case is good. Surplus to a local aerospace companies needs. Borescope Kollmorgen D.R.P. Vintage German Engineering Firearms Inspection. Two scopes: one provides a 90 degree. Right angle view, the other is more like 45 degrees off axis. Each are about 31" long. The 90 degree scope is marked"No. 3096" The other has no number I can find. All metal parts are corrosion resistant nickel plated brass as was the custom on all good old equipment. There is an informative web page that explains D.R.P. patent markings I expect this piece is from Germany in the 1930's or 40's with possible application in firearms manufacture. Both have functioning optics. Although I cant really vouch for the quality of any close-up imaging. You can see across the room at a light source and see details. But I have not tested close-up viewing capabilities. If anyone has a suggestion as to how I might test. ... moreLet me know. The light bulbs are all no good. Both scopes are not shorted electrically(between conducting rings) and theoretically will work with the proper bulb and power supply. One of the electrical contact connectors looks good and is complete. The other has no wires. They are clean and shiny(one photo shows something dark reflected in it's nickel plating) The box closes. But has some problems with the veneer, see photos. The key is broken but is a very simple one and should be easy to replace. Selling as-is. Examine photos below.
