THERE ARE VESTIGES OF A"HANDLE BY BASE" LABEL ON THE BASE. THE LEVEL ITSELF IS FOUR INCHES IN DIAMETER. WILL BE SHIPPED MEDIUM FLAT RATE PRIORITY MAIL. A level indicating mechanism for indicating to a machine operator the relative level position of a work machine includes a circular ring magnet and a bullseye level instrument positioned within the ring magnet. A potting material surrounds the level instrument and connects it to the ring magnet. The level indicating mechanism is adapted to be removably secured to portions of the work machine and ... morebe visable to the machine operator. The angular orientation of the work machine is adjustable by stabilizing apparatus to bring the work machine to a level position with respect to the ground surface. One of the salient features of the present invention lies in the provision of a thin-walled sheet metal cup in conjunction with the graduated glass disk to serve as a container for the liquid with the large circular air bubble therein movable with respect to a spherical surface on the under side of the disk. The disk being sealed in place in the rim portion of the cup, and the bottom portion of the cup serving as a resilient diaphragm to compensate for changes in temperature so that the bubble will not vary in diameter too greatly.

Machinists Level Starrett # 95 6 inch level and box
This is a Starrett level that came down to me thru my father. I am not certain of how old it is but it appears to be in excellent condition. The box that it came in has a#95 and 6in on the label but the middle of the label is blacked out. The box is missing the cover and a small portion of the right side has broken away. In the picture of the bottom of the level you can see that there is a small amount of surface rust no pitting and very easily removed. Please ask for additional pictures if you need them I tried to picture it to show the condition. It clearly was well taken care of. Thank you for checking out my auction.

E-Bay) this level;l is from the 1940'sThis level belonged to my grandfather who was a tool a die maker/machinist for many large companies including Motorola. It is has no chips or cracks in the paint or chips in the cast iron base, The vial is there but cracked. There is no pitting on the level it has a small amount of light rust that I'm sure will come right off. The slide/guard for the vial is also in perfect working condition. Up for auction is a Starrett(Athol Mass) precision machinists’ level that is six inches long. This level has two vials to provide accurate results. The main vial is ground and graduated with 10 lines and adjustable to a positive setting. A second cross-test vial allows measurements from two directions at once. An involute groove runs the entire length of the level base. And provides a reliable seat for round work, such as leveling pipes or shafting. For this auction. A vintage L.S. Starrett Co. machinist precision level. 18-inch. The liquid in one of the plumb vials has drained out and needs repair/replacement if desired, see the 6th photo) The other vials are all intact and working. This is a vintage No 97 12 inch Starrett Level with plain vials. Base has cross level. The original box is rough from years of storage. The level has some discoloration on the bottom and one small flake on the chrome. No dents or scratches. It looks like it was never used.
