Starrett Adjustable Parallel bars- $30- Free Shipping This is a group of three used Starrett#154 A. B& C parallel bars showing no signs of abuse, excessive use or neglect. The B& C bars look unused. The boxes are oil soaked but the tools are nice. This is from a batch of machinists tools that have been in storage for some time. Some of the tools and boxes have been in sitting oil that spilled some time ago. Some of the tools are quite old and have seen lots of use and others appear to be unused. Some of the tools have the previous owner's name engraved. Many of the tools were passed on to the son who was also a machinist and may have his name engraved. I bought the tools from the grandson who has no interest in metal working. I know very little about some of these tools and their use. As a result I do not know if some of the tools ... moreare complete or if all of the elements function properly. Never the less. I spent 30 years as a Special Machine Builder and Machinist. I retired from the tooling trade over 20 years ago so the time has come to pass along my precision tools and tooling to someone who has a use for them. For sale is my Brown& Sharpe adjustable parallel set#673-20 with case. I purchased this set new in the late 60's. Set includes a 6 piece parallel set. Range.375" to 2.250" All gauges are bright and shiny, no rust or pitting. Dovetails are smooth and slide freely. Edges are clean showing minimal wear. Tightening screws show no abuse. The case shows minimal wear and has some light scratches. There is some paint loss on the buttons and some of the lettering has rubbed off. A quick word on the meaning of NOS: these are items that have never been used. But they have been lying around for a while. Parts that deteriorate with time may need to be replaced, like shaft seals. Valves may be lightly stuck. The paint may be chipped and it may not quite match the color of the rest of your tractor, anyway, so figure on stripping and painting the part to match your paint job. I will describe any deterioration as best I can for you. My guarantee is good and my comebacks are practically non-existent so for the most part my descriptions are accurate and my buyers understand the game. I am always glad to combine shipping for you.
