It would be a great starter-camera for anyone wishing to venture into the DSLR realm without spending too much money. It only has one little flaw: the lens cannot be focused manually but works fine in autofocus-mode. It takes three sets of batteries(a button-cell for date/time and other settings. A pair of 123 3V lithium batteries for the camera-electronics and flash- see last picture, and four 1.5V Alkaline or rechargeable cells for the capture unit- see 9th picture) but has no requirement for a specific battery or charger. I've used this camera for years and have taken thousands ... moreof pictures with it. The sensor's native size is 3.2 MP but you can set the camera so it saves a 6.4 MP. Interpolated version straight to the memory-card! It takes both Smart Media and Compact Flash memory cards and comes with one of each(the original 8 MB FujiFilm SM card and a 128 MB, respectively) but they are quite old and you'll probably want to replace either or both(the largest CF-card it will accept is 1 GB) I've included an electronic version of the user-guide on the SM card. Nikon SB-600 Speedlight, Shoe Mount Flash. with stand, pouch, box & manual.
Complete with pouch. Manual, stand and box plus a diffuser. Functions properly except the LCD flashes constantly which I find annoying. The picture of the box, manual etc WITHOUT the SB-600(the second photo) was taken using the SB-600 reversed and bounced of the ceiling- all the other photos were taken using my SB-700 used the same way. I have tried the obvious possible solutions- fresh batteries(both new alkaline and freshly charged eneloop) a reset, a different camera etc. nothing has cured the flashing LCD but otherwise I have not experienced any issues with the flash.
