Precision XYZ stage with BEI voicecoil positioners and Jena optical encoders
This assembly includes 3 ball bearing linear slides at right angles. Each with a BEI Kimco voicecoil positioner and a Numerik Jena linear optical encoder. The length of travel is approx 0.8 cm in each axis. The payload is a short focal length coated achromat lens assembly surrounded by a LED-illuminated lucite ring aligned with a hole behind it in the mounting plate. The positioners and encoders are wired to a 37 pin D connector. It may have been used in a cell counter or IC or fiber optic alignment system, or something similar, but no manufacturer or model number is present. Each axis moves freely, and the positioners were tested OK with a function generator(5-10V at 5 Hz) I have no equipment to test the encoders. You could use this for an optical test stand or fast micro positioner, or it could be disassembled for the many very-expensive ... moreparts.
