This auction is for a lovely Wooden Humidor Cigar storage box. It is very ornate and looks like a jewelry box. It is made of a dark wood. It could be mahogany, I am not sure. I obtained this at a local estate sale, and I am not sure of the age of it. It measures approx. 18" tall to the top of the fancy scroll work on the front, and approx. 13.5" tall for the cabinet part. It has Faux double doors on the front, with 2 knobs, but actually hinges open on the right, there is a finger grab area on the left. It pulls open and there are 4 cedar drawers inside for storing your cigars. Each drawer measures approx. 8" wide. This box also opens at the top, It lifts Up and inside is the humidity unit. The doors and frame are made of solid Spanish Cedar(a species of Mahogany) Each door has 2 windows and 2 panels. 1 lite is missing from each door. But we could cut and add glass from our collection of antique glass for $25/lite. We could also replace the lower, wooden panels with glass, or even replace the upper, glass panels with wood-email us for a quote. The frame has casement molding on the exterior side only. The outer edges of the molding are adorned with a beautiful. Carved, circle and bead pattern. You know that it's an incredible take on the classic Gibson les Paul Junior. This one is in the classic cherry red finish with Spanish Cedar body and neck. It weighs only 5.85 POUNDS! WOw. What a featherweight! Lighter than an SG Junior! But the sound is not light at all. The custom wound DGN pickup really nails that classic P90 tone. This one is a screamer! The neck profile is really chunky. DGN calls it a"C" profile. But if that's the case, it's the biggest C I've ever played. I would say it is more comparable to a Gibson 57 Reissue Les Paul neck- big, round, and clubby without being uncomfortable. Playing the guitar is a really unique experience. You have the light weight(I ... moremean. REALLY light) a big neck, and a screaming P90. It really is a joy to play. The volume and tone control pots are CTS/MOJO. And they really work well for dialing in additional tones. Condition-wise. I'd call it excellent. Mild cosmetic wear from normal playing. There is a small ding on the back of the headstock at the top- cosmetic only, and it could easily be touched up. Includes the original archtop hardshell case. 1923 dtd Spanish-American War Military Order of the Serpent medal-Cedar Point, O
This item up for auction is an original and vintage Spanish-American War badge from the 24th Annual Encampment of the Military Order of the Serpent that was held in Cedar Point. Ohio on Lake Erie on June 10-18, 1923. The Military Order of the Serpent was a sub-group of the United Spanish War Veterans and the veteran had to be a member of the USWV in good standing before becoming a member of the M.O.S. The M.O.S. was in existence from 1904 until the 1960's.This unique and scarce badge measures approximately 3 1/4 in length and is hallmarked with a partially shown manufacture's mark on the reverse of the badge and directly under the ribbon. The hallmark is hard to read and I will not move the ribbon for a clearer view. This unique piece of early Spanish-American War Veterans history is in gently handled condition with no damage or abuse ... moreand is as found. This is a very gently pre-owned and lightly used vertical cigar humidor. This great humidor is rendered in all wood with a high gloss CHERRY finish and thick Spanish cedar lining. It measures approximately 10” tall by 5” square and features a lift off lid. Beveled wooden seal, and recessed lid-mounted humidifier unit. This humidor is from my personal collection and is now excess to my needs. It was originally obtained in an estate sale lot so I do not know its actual age or providence. It has been very lightly used but is well-seasoned. It seals well and retains humidity. Folk Art Carved Head - Spanish Cedar - smoking a pipe - signed / dated
Large freestanding heavy solid wood folk art carved head of man smoking a pipe. Stands just over 17in.tall X aprx 7in.wide X 12in.deep It is signed and dated on the bottom. 5/73.I can't make out the cursive signature of the creator. Rick something.perhaps. Beautifully hand crafted solid heavy carving with nicely textured and detailed hair. Beard and facial expression. It is covered by a shellac of some sort that darkens the wood slightly and gives it a sheen. I was puzzled over the type of wood this was carved from until I smelled the unmistakable fragrance of Spanish Cedar from the unfinished bottom of the piece. A shallow. Alhambra 3C Spanish Classical Guitar - Solid Cedar Top
This is an Alhambra 3C Spanish Classical nylon string guitar. Solid Cedar Top. It was to be a project guitar in my luthier aspirations. But I am just not able to find the time to mess with guitars anymore. The Alhambra 3C is famous for its true tonality and sheer volume. A very high quality instrument made with fine woods. It is missing two tuning peg gears. These are no more than $1 each from a guitar shop. The nut needs to be reglued in place. But I do have the original nut and saddle. Lastly, there is a section on the top edge, as seen in photo, where the lacquer has chipped away. The wood underneath in untouched. Any guitar shop could take care of all these issues for about $25 or less. Do it yourself for about $6. Then you have a guitar that sells from $600-$800 new. Structurally. The guitar is sound. OLDER MEXICAN OR SOUTH AMERICAN LARGE SPANISH-CEDAR WOOD CARVING OF AFRICAN LION
This carving is uncommon in my experience due to its theme. Size, appeal and age. I just had the wood analyzed to gain knowledge to support the source of the wood, and Forest Products Laboratory in Madison WI found it is Spanish Ceder, AKA as"Cedrela sp. odorata" only found in the New World, specifically Central and South America. You can see the no-harm plug of wood I drilled from the underside, required to get size enough of the material to be analyzed. This is a very attractive African lion measuring about 2 feet long and weighing aprox. 13 1/2 pounds. It is a delightful character in the folk art tradition, most likely Mexican. I have noted a couple other recent lion shapes with the tail executed in a similar manner to this fellow. I believe it is from the first half of the 20th century. It is in very good condition, though there ... moreis a drying crack in the mouth, and a chip on one of the lower fangs, which you can see in the photos. They were considered top luthiers at the level of Masaru Kohno. Masaki Sakurai, and Ryoji Matsuoka among others. They made a variety of grade and types of guitars: Concert, Flamenco, 8 and 10 strings guitars. There are plenty of wiki on the web on those guitars. I can attest that this guitar is powerful.
