This is a show-stopper! You'll never see another Divan like this. I've enjoyed it in my downtown condo. Time for a new project! Now it's your turn to enjoy it! This Sofa/ Divan/ Couch/ Davenport was purchased from an Estate in Beverly Hills. This item resided in a Pool House on that Estate. It is a Mid-Century Modern BOOMERANG. BROKEN-BACK COUCH. This means. It is meant as a conversation center. And can free-float in a room, so that one can sit from either side of the couch in the middle. It would be fun to reupholster dramatically in white. Red, or black leather. The only couch I've found similar to this is made in Italy and was $11K a few years ago. The couch is approximately 8.5 feet long and 3 feet deep(more dimensions to follow) The material is an ivory/off-white naugahyde with an embossed leaf pattern. I've learned ... morethat the original fabric beneath was a Blue/Green. There are six(6) tapered/peg legs of medium-color wood. My upholsterer says the grain is indicative of Maple. more pix to follow) The couch is steel-sprung. And has horsehair(as was common back then) The frame is Hard Alder Wood. And is two(2) inches thick around, rather than the normal 1"3/4" thick wood. It's heavy and made to last! I have recently reupholstered the webbing and underfabric. The original under-couch treatment has a multitude of small. Hand-applied brass tacks, which I have left underneath the new fabric treatment. My upholster also noticed hand-stitching, and he says that both methods are hard to find and fell out of favor in the 60s. This Divan's age is late 40s to 50s. This couch is in good vintage condition. Large Northwest Coast Alder Wood Mask Chief Sam Henderson 1905-82 .Fine Art
The late Chief Sam Henderson. Was a well known Kwakiutl carver. His Wife, the late Mae Quocksistala Henderson, was the eldest daughter of a high ranking native family. Sam was a respected master carver and was recognized as a knowledgeable elder, well versed in the songs, legends and the ceremonial rights of his people. The Hendersons of Campbell River have been instrumental in preserving and sharing Kwa kwa ka' wakw First Nations' traditions. The family patriarch. Sam Henderson, was born in a Nakwaktok village in 1905. His father was Scottish and his mother was Kwa kwa ka' wakw. He grew up at Blunden Harbour across from Port Hardy. Sam moved to Campbell River in 1934 when he married Mae Quocksistala, the eldest daughter of the local Wei wai kum Band's Chief John Quocksistala. Fender JAZZ Bass 1965 Body - Alder wood
This is an actual Fender Jazz bass body circa 1965. The original finish was removed many years ago. The Alder wood grain is tight and absolutely beautiful. This body has been routed to sink a bridge below body surface and can be repaired easily. Unless you choose to use it as is. It has been sanded smooth and is super light weight, just like everyone is searching for! This would make a cool project bass or an excellent cutting board for an over the top bassist! Last Chance! NEW Low Reserve! This is a show-stopper! You'll never see another Divan like this. I've enjoyed it in my downtown condo. Now it's your turn to enjoy it! This Sofa/ Divan/ Couch/ Davenport was purchased from an Estate in Beverly Hills. This item resided in a Pool House on that Estate. It is a Mid-Century Modern BOOMERANG. BROKEN-BACK COUCH. This means. It is meant as a conversation center. And can free-float in a room, so that one can sit from either side of the couch in the middle. It would be fun to reupholster dramatically in white. Red, or black leather. The only couch I've found similar to this is made in Italy and was $11K a few years ago. The couch is approximately 8.5 feet long and 3 feet deep(more dimensions to follow) The material is an ivory/off-white naugahyde with an embossed leaf pattern. I've ... morelearned that the original fabric beneath was a Blue/Green. There are six(6) tapered/peg legs of medium-color wood. My upholsterer says the grain is indicative of Maple. You be the judge(see pix to) The couch is steel-sprung. And has horsehair stuffing(as was common back then) The frame is Hard Alder Wood. And is two(2) inches thick around, rather than the normal 1"3/4" thick wood. It's heavy and made to last! I have recently reupholstered the webbing and underfabric(see pix) The original under-couch treatment has a multitude of small. Hand-applied brass tacks, which I have left underneath the new fabric treatment. My upholster also noticed hand-stitching, and he says that both methods are hard to find and fell out of favor in the 60s. This Divan's age is late 40s to 50s. This couch is in good vintage condition. But does show wear with a couple of wear areas(picture to follow) This couch is easy to clean. One owner Fender Stratocaster Body from 1994. This was my first guitar. Ahhh the memories. Made in Japan with fantastic build quality. This is part of the Fender 40th Anniversary Line Up. So it has a few specs that are rare for the time. One, the body is alder wood and not basswood like other Japan Fenders. Plus, it's a really nice grain of alder to. Makes you think they were going for swamp ash. Love the finish! 54-57 style two tone. Has ST-57AS in the neck pocket and A in the control cavity. Once again, alder wood. Body is in really,really good condition. Some scratches,nicks and dings. Nothing terrible. Back in my younger days, I was a true tone chaser so I sanded out the tremolo cavity to bare wood. Lightly used. Some marks, looked it over and found 2 marks, one on the top and one on the bottom where the powder coating rubbed off hitting the 14 next to it on my kit. Bearing edges are perfect, sounds great. Size is 16 inch diameter by 14 deep. Lugs not overtightened, nothing stripped, some life left in the stock skins, I like the sound of these with a nice set of Evans EC2's, gives a nice bassy tone. No cracks, no imperfections not mentioned, not all scratched up, nice black powdercoated hardware. Nice redtone to inner ply that you can see. But then those Native American flutes starting coming along. First one, then three, and now four. He never has time for me anymore. I'm leaving, and I'm taking my case, swab and cork grease with me. Hey. I've got a few dings and nicks(see photos) and my case is stained(the idiot tried to hand wash it, only making the situation worse) But I still have lots of songs in me, if only there was someone to play me. Ouija Board Alder Wood Round Glow In The Dark Black Light Star Pentagram Pagan
So. I have made well over 300 Ouija boards(one of them was shown on Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel in October 2014) but this one is the very first board that I used resin. Resin is two liquids that are mixed together to make a plastic. It starts out liquid, and a chemical reaction occurs that produces heat. Then, It slowly becomes solid. I went ahead and mixed up a batch of resin, but I added in Photoluminescent Glow Powder. It gets charged from the sun or other light sources. If you put it under a light all day, it is going to really glow! Unfortunately, I live in Washington State and it was pouring down rain all day and was very dark. I took some photos after putting it under an indoor light for a while. It also glows really well under black light. The brighter photos are the board under a black light. My process for making this ... moreboard was to first cut down an alder tree(thanks husband! Then. I let it dry for several months. After that, I sanded and sanded and sanded until I got it pretty smooth. Then, I took a Dremel tool and carved a pentagram into the wood. I drew the pentagram on with pencil first so I knew where to carve. After carving, I mixed up the resin and added the glow powder. I poured the resin onto the wood(and onto just about everything else near the board! Oops! I let the resin dry for 24 hours. Oh, I also made a mold out of cardboard and tape for the planchette and I poured a bunch of resin into the mold. After waiting 24 hours, I sanded the board again to remove any overflow of the resin. Then, I got out a pencil and drew all of the lettering. I used dark walnut colored acrylic paint to paint the letters and words. After the paint dried, I sealed the board with several coats of polyurethane. On the back of the board, I epoxied 4 large clear glass stones on the back to stabilize the board and to make it look like a very low table. The board measures 21" across x 16" high. Rustic Wood Pine/Alder Headboard and Footboard for Full/Queen Bed
I believe the headboard and footboard can be used for either a full or queen. It measures 67" across and from inside the posts it measures 52" across. A queen typically measures 60" across and a full is 54" across. The headboard is 57" in height and the footboard is 38" high. The square surfaces on top of the posts are 9" squares. Good condition. However I do not have the rails to go with it, but I took pictures of where they could be attached. The wood is light and might be either pine or alder.
