An original satinwood box with excellent patina and delightful cut steel decoration. c. 1830- 50. Very much in the French Palais Royale tradition but could be French or English. The exterior is in excellent antique condition- there are marks commensurate with age and minor loss of veneer on two bottom corners- see photographs. The interior pale blue silk lining is somewhat worn as can be seen. There is a key which- while wobbly- does work. Size: 9¾ ins(24.8cm) by 3.7 ins(9.5cm) by 2½ ins(6.3cm) high. These chairs have 19" wide seats that are 17" deep. Each chair has 20" high from the floor seats and are 33 1/2" tall at their back rails. The back rails are entirely satinwood inlaid with center Grecian kelix urns surrounded by floral and vine motifs. Each right and left posts are inlaid with a budding flowers. The chairs have satinwood sting inlay. Molded legs with molded back splats and splayed backs and legs. These chairs have been well cared for throughout their lifetime. VICTORIAN GLOVE BOX DECORATED WITH ROSEWOOD AND SATINWOOD BANDS
A most attractive Victorian glove box with rosewood and satinwood banding. A mother of pearl vacant cartouche to the lid and an engraved mother of pearl escutcheon. The inside is lined with watered silk which is in good order though slightly marked as shown. Inside the lid is a band for sliding through a pair of glove stretchers; the stitching has come away but could be restitched. Picture 4 shows a brown section under the left hinge; this is where a small piece of the lining paper has worn. It is not damaged wood. The brass hinges and brass lock are fine. The key is missing. Picture 6 is one end; the opposite end is not shown but is in excellent condition. The wood has a lovely patina and makes a wonderful display piece. 9 5/8" wide. 3 3/4" deep and 2 7/8" high.

This is a very nice 3 door wardrobe circa 1900. Made in France or Possibly Italy as a lot of there furniture were very similar. The condition is very good. Its pollard oak and walnut with satinwood marquetry inlay to each door to the side, as well as rosewood inlay. At some time to the back has had wood worm. It looks treated, but we have also treated it as well. lt comes in several part so its easy to transport. To the base it has brass feet and also to the top brass cups. The center has a drawer to the base. The the rest is all hanging space as well as the sides. The mirror is the original one which shows some specks with age. Measurements are 76 wide.83 high, 24 deep. We have the 3 keys for each door.
