Make me an offer. You are bidding on a mid century 4/4 violin from Ferndale Mich. as it states on inside(no maker listed) Such a beautiful instrument has 2 different woods from front to back. Darker wood on front could be cherry on back looks like burlwood. The double pin striping is wonderful lighter on front and darker on back(usuing oposite woods) I bought the violin years ago and had it referbished. Two cracks on front were repaired(left side) I had it fitted with thomastik dominant strings and the red wood pegs chin and tail pieces. I have for your consideration my R. Taylor Style 2 guitar. It was on 9/14/11. It is Sinker Redwood top with East Indian Rosewood back and sides and is a short scale. I had a L.R. Baggs RTSii pickup professionally installed and it sounds amazing. It has a very"chocolaty" warm tone and is super responsive to the lightest touch. There is more low end in this guitar than the body size suggests. It comes with the Armitage case and all of the case candy. It has a brand new set of Elixir PB Nano 12-53's on it. The guitar and case are in excellent condition and have been kept in my temp/climate controlled home studio at 73 at 45-49% humidity since acquiring it. I found no marks or scratches of any kind. Jim Hafer Redwood Stave Didgeridoo, Katt Art, Didjeridu
Up for sale is an unusual didgeridoo made of redwood staves. What that means is that the maker. Jim Hafer, started with 8 long strips of redwood called staves. The staves were shaped so the upper bore section would transition into the tapered resonance chamber and bell sections. He then joined them together tightly, with excellent wood working skills, to make a very perfectly sealed didge. The eight staves are curved, so the didge is round, and each stave was split where the resonant chamber transitions to the bell. Looking at the bell from the end, one can see that it looks like a 16 sided didge on the inside, and round on the outside. Once cured, it was sanded and the art work done, then epoxy finished inside and out. It has a natural mouthpiece that is just the right size and very comfortable to play. Hard to use while playing The mouthpiece aperture measures 30mm or 1 3/16” The bell is just over 4 1/4” The didge measures just about 68” long. There is a distinct ring tone while droning. Didge players know that there is a great variety of aspects within these instruments. This one is very balanced and supports many techniques extremely well. It is very snappy and transitions well. 2007 Taylor GC Custom Acoustic Guitar Brazilain Rosewood Sinker Redwood w/ OHSC
This is a 2007 one of a kind custom ordered Taylor GC Acoustic Guitar(see photos for custom order form) I am the original owner and this has never left my smoke free home. In fact the guitar is so nice and pretty that I have only ever played it for about an hour total and only finger picking without using picks or finger-picks. The top is made of sinker redwood. From trees that were logged many years ago but didn't make it to the mill due to sinking in a river while being floated downstream. The back and sides are made of Brazilian Rosewood, as is the veneer on the slotted headstock. The binding on the sides, neck and in the inner sound hole is flamed maple and ebony. The additional top binding, neck dots and logo are all abalone. The fingerboard and bridge are made from ebony. The neck is Mahogany. Burled Redwood pot/body made of three interlocking pieces. Solid wood and not veneer. Beautiful grain is hidden by age patina. Looks like name in pencil or pen written, not scratched, on side of pot that looks like Harry Bryari? Other letters also but not legible. Would disappear with restoration sanding. Back resonator is gone. It sat attached just lifted off the pot by set screws. That will need to be remade or replaced if you could find one. Vintage California Redwood Burl Vase Souvenir from the famous"The Stump House" in Eureka. California. U.S. redwood businessman Thomas Rodney Burns moved to California prior to 1880 and worked in the lumber industry. He was a skilled wood worker and founded a novelty shop business known as the Stump House. This vase is in excellent used condition. There are marks from wear nothing that affects it's appearance. Here is an old nut bowl-we are guessing it is circa 1950's. Maybe a little earlier. There is a large paper label on the underside and the label has a somewhat Art Deco look to it. Label says"Products of the California Redwood Forests, Standard Specialty Co. San Francisco. with a forested mountain graphic. The bowl has a raised center section that would hold a nutcracker and 6 nut picks, these are not included. There is wear around the edges of the holes. The bowl is made of alternating sections of dark and light wood. It measures 8-1/2" across and is 2-1/2" deep. Some may have tackholes where they were displayed in her classroom and some may have her nephew's name written in a corner on the back. Up for sale we have a great estate find! Here is a lot of five pieces of California redwood from a family trip that took place in 1941. There is one checker pattern bowl that measures 10" in diameter and about 2" deep. The bowl also has a lithograph of a redwood forest attached to the bottom. Next there is a plate that is about 8" in diameter and is marked"PHA Crafts SW" and also is marked by the previous owner with the date of their trip along who went. Also included is a vase that is 3 1/2" tall and two toothpick holders that are about 2" tall. These three objects have also been tagged by the original owner. The bowl shows a good amount of wear and has a small spot of gray paint on one side. The vase and the toothpick holders also have their fair share of scratches.
