1969 Martin D12-35 Brazilian Rosewood
This is the last year Martin used Brazilian rosewood. The guitar is a 12 string version of the popular D35 with a 3 piece back. Condition is very good. As there are no structural issues. Wear and tear is typical of a guitar of this age that has been played and taken care of. There are tiny finish cracks in the back(barely visible in the photo) that I had inspected by a well known luthier, who said they do not go through the wood. The tuning keys are not original but were replaced by official Martin issued premium sealed gear keys. The case appears original or at least correct from the period.

1963 Martin D-28 SW Brazilian Rosewood-Impossible Original Condition-Stunning-
Offered at no reserve is one of the rarest Martin dreadnoughts anywhere: A 1963 D28SW the third one ever produced. It survives in completly original condition as a 9+ on a scale of 1-10. There are no cracks. There is scattered finish checking here and there on the neck. Top and body. There is a finish crack(see pictures) that does not follow the grain and is NOT in the wood. I can say this with certainty because it has had the ultimate test for a"wood crack" That test, which is easy to perform, involves lightly swabing Mineral Spirits on the area in question. Mineral Spirits is so super thin that it will immediately penetrate the wood if it is a crack and show inside the guitar as a"dark wet spot" It will quickly dry and you know for sure. I, as an amateur Luthier, have performed this test many, many times and this is ... morethe only time the suspect crack turned out NOT to be in the wood. Try it! But if you do, be sure you use Mineral Spirits and only Mineral Spirits. It will not hurt the finish and as I said it dries quickly. This finish crack was photographed under special lighting for clarity and full disclosure. In normal light it is virtually invisible. As to how it sounds. I've been playing and collecting Martins since the early 60's. And this is the most powerful one I've ever had. It has great bass, but the warmth, volume and clarity of the midrange and treble is irresistable. It's hard to describe tone, but the bass is wonderfully full, the midrange and treble sound like ringing, full bodied chimes to me. The sound seems to come from about 1 Foot in front of the soundhole and you can feel the bass in the pit of your stomach as much as hear it. In my opinion, it is the best sounding guitar I have ever played or owned and that includes many Pre-War D-28's. It just celebrated it's 50th birthday. There have been no repairs except for perhaps a perfect neck set. I can not tell for sure. There is moderate finish checking on the neck. Which otherwise shows almost no wear. T

Antique Rosewood Block Acquired this last year from an estate sale. Most of the items were antique. All wood like carved and turned bowls and old carved money trays for coins. All had unique numbers hand applied to each piece. The numbers look like museum acquisition numbers that are applied to each piece before entering a collection. Other than this I do not know the history or origin of this piece but expect is is quite old, perhaps early 20th century or older Condition is good. Nice patina, no cracks. Has two slots for two notes. Very loud and sharp. Hurt my ears when tapped moderately with a wooden speen handle(hi tech test! Recently I spotted a completed sale for a veryy similarblock on ebay that had a very similar look. It was made by Leedy Drums. My piece had no identifying marks though. Other than mentioned. This is a 2006 Taylor GS. It has a Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. Included is an after-market hardshell case. The instrument is in good working condition. The setup is great and the electronics are working. There are several minor bumps on the top. Nothing through the finish and no cracks. This guitar sounds great! The bigger bodied GS and the sitka/rosewood make for a great classic combination. The silky spruce top and colorful rosewood are very good looking in real life. Thanks!

VINTAGE 1900 WASHBURN PARLOR GUITAR PROJECT T he serial number on this vintage Washburn parlor guitar is 203463. That would date the year of manufacture to around 1900. It shows every bit of its age. Please see all the pictures for a good idea of the condition. There are cracks on every surface except the neck and headstock/headstock overlay. The back is in two pieces and is detached from the top. The top is loosely adhered to the sides. There is no bracing on the back halves, obviously. And the top braces have been reglued. The bridge plate is there but splintered. At some point in its history a small diameter steel rod was glued into a routed groove in the neck- a crude attempt at a truss rod. Luckily its small enough not to have compromised the structural integrity of the neck. Nice Gabon Ebony neck heel cap. The neck is Spanish Cedar. ... moreThe top is Spruce. Great feeling narrow width(1 9/16" at nut) soft V profile neck refretted with jumbo 6100 wire. Fairly deep, so it feels smallish yet not skimpy. Frets have minimal wear. Fret ends are a little spikey due to dry conditions. I'm attempting to re-humidify presently. Graph Tech nut and original Schaller tuners. I am offering my 2004 Mayes Jumbo Parlor for sale or trade. This is the prettiest guitar that I have ever seen- the flamed redwood is three-dimensional. The"tiger stripes" you see on the top in the pictures is real. Not an artifact of reflections. The Madagascar rosewood back and sides are just as striking. This guitar sounds as good as it looks- full, rich, lush, great sustain, and very balanced. The flamed redwood has a wonderfully warm tone and a faster attack and more clarity than cedar. The setup is nice and low and with the fast shallow-C shaped neck. The guitar plays like a dream. I've put a new set of 12-54 Octacore strings on this week. This is a vintage YAMAHA acoustic. 6-strings guitar. The model number is FG-375S. It has SOLID spruce soundboard, and rosewood sides and back. The fretboard and the bridge are also rosewood. The neck is mahogany. This guitar has been well played. It shows wear and has scuffs. Nicks and scratches. The fretboard has wear, and the strings are old. The pictures did not capture all wear, but they are there. The guitar is not pristine, so if you are looking for a mint and showroom FG-375S, this is not it. But if you are looking for a good sounding vintage FG-375S, then this is it. Other than its cosmetic blemishes. This is an amazing guitar. Even with its old strings, it still projects very vibrant sound, with good volume. The action is low. About 1/8" at the 12th fret on the lower E. Easy to play. The machine heads are gold plated. With Yamaha ... moreand Japan stamping on each. The headstock is inlaid in mother of pearl with the Yamaha logo. The fretmarkers are inlaid in mother of pearl, with design unique to FG-375S(As far as I know, this is the only Yamaha model with this fretmarkers inlays. The body is fully bound. Including the neck and the headstock. The color of the top has matured to dark amber, very vintage color. The binding has yellowed, which only add to its vintage appeal. Fife, one piece 6 hole made of rosewood, square end openings
Up for bid is a 6 hole one piece fife made of rosewood. Measures 16 inches. The end fittings are made of metal. It has a rough finish so that the wood grain is plainly visible. It is unique in that the end holes are square on either side. Someone has stuck a round cork in it to mouth hole depth though so the fife is not in playable condition until that cork is removed. I will include two extra corks that the buyer can make square to fit the instrument. Fifes with square end openings are uncommon and collectible. Thanks for looking.

I don't know if the inserts are Rosewood or Pecan. The drawer pulls on the dresser are accented with a different wood but I've never known which was which. I recently purchased the same headboard in king size for the twin beds together and it has worn areas and has been touched up and smells like crayons. Well. Vintage Martin mandolin from 1919 - All original - Brazilian rosewood!
Here is a rare and elusive 1919 Martin'A' model mandolin. This beauty features a solid Adirondack spruce top. Solid mahogany back& sides, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and an ebony bridge. Everything on this mandolin is original including the finish, the bar frets, the inlaid tortoise shell pickguard, the clamshell tailpiece, and the tuners(all of which work perfectly and have what appears to be ivory buttons) As for the condition of the instrument. It's really quite good for 90+ years old. The only repair it's had is a glued crack on the face between the bridge and the soundhole at the top edge of the pickguard. These are very common on old Martins(mandolins& guitars) and the repair was done long ago and still holds true. The pickguard itself has cracked a bit but none of the pieces have fallen out. Also, there ... moreare a few tiny chips out of the ebony nut, but nothing that effects the playability or structural integrity. The neck is very straight and with light gauge strings on it the action at the 12th fret is 3/32" on the bass side and 1/16" on the treble. As you might expect, it plays great and sounds even better. A bridge I've punched up on eBay and there are many rosewood replacements listed. and one of the adjust ers looks to need attention. Nice old antique bowlback mandolin, decorated, rosewood, great project
Hello. I am selling for a friend several old and antique plucked instruments. He collected for many years. I hope you will like them. Now you are bidding on a nice antique bowlback mandolin. Handmade probably in Italy, a beautiful and interesting piece. There is no label, I guess it was made around 1900 to 1930. Fine woods, the top is solid spruce, the back is made of rosewood with 23 thinner and 2 thicker ribs. The condition is medium, the mandolin needs some repair, the neck is slightly curved but playable. The fingerboard with 17 frets(condition is not good) is made of rosewood. 3 mop markers. Fine head, the tuners work well, decorated scratchplate and also mop decorations at the seam, I think the bridge is not original. The neck is slightly curved but playable, action at the 12th fret is 3 to 4mm. Very old but complete strings. A good ... morequality instrument! Total length: 630mm. Scale length: 330mm, width of the nut: 28mm, width 12th fret: 38mm. MEDIUM CONDITION! Damages two hairline cracks at the top. Antique Highly Carved Asian Cabinet Rosewood Chinese? Japanese? Nice
Lovely. Heavily carved rosewood cabinet which is Asian in origin but I don't know much about it. It has one removable shelf and two drawers which have lost their knobs. All solid wood construction with metal rivets at the corners(see last photo) There is a small separation on the very between the edge piece and the top of the cabinet(see last photo) Also. There is a crack on the bottom shelf INSIDE. It does not go all the way across the bottom on the up side but does seem to go across the bottom when viewing from underneath the cabinet- but it is still very solid. There is also a separation between the bottom and edge of one of the drawers. Please ask questions. I'll be sure to add info if I find it. Antique Pair of Rosewood Indonesian Wood/Wooden Masks, Early Tourist Trade
These lovely pair masks that appear to be done in the typical south east asia rosewood as are some similar Chinese masks of the period. Rosewood is dense/heavy wood, Unlike any other masks in my collection these were given to me. My parents got them from family friends that had taken a trip(as tourists) in Indonesia circa 1950s. That said. I think most folks selling these calling them Vintage are in-fact wrong, as They qualify as antiques in my mind. My theory. Although I have never read this before, would be that these are early tourist trade masks. I am increasingly draw to masks that seems as if they were the start of the tourist trade in the region. As they are bargins, yet were being made by the true, historical, mutli-generational-mastercraftsmen before their culture continue to loose the generational-transfer of its mask making skills. ... moreSeem as if they were purchased as the pair and are done by the same craver given the style/lines etc. Never meant to be worn. Purely decorative by design. I am not sure if these are present in the natives home too, or if they reside only in the"american tourist's home" I suspect like Japan, many homes have decorative masks for display, perhaps in this case just to a lesser degree of the adoption in Japan. I believe these represent a prince and a princess. That said, I am not sure if there are variants on the same character or not, Japanese noh masks for example. Have a female character whose only differences are(yet another name) is subtle differences in age seen by slight changes in eyebrows, cheeckbones and eyes etc. Artistically appealing. Perhaps culturally relevant to mark a shift in the dying culture of mask making; certainly something significant in its evolution. Fine lines. I am selling the matching gentleman's dresser, or highboy, separately. Both pieces have been refinished, but missing veneer work was not done, so, as you can see in pics 4& 8 there is slight edge veneer loss at the front side corners. In pic 5 you can barely see that the veneer has been re-glued. There are a few nicks here and there, and there are hardware circles around a couple of the drawer pulls, where the handles have been rotated and made a circle in the wood around. Rosewood Mid Century Modern Packard Bell stereo cabinet credenza Danish Knoll
This was the Packard Bell flagship model. Has original hang tag on stereo- says"150 watts" Extremely well constructed Rosewood cabinet with a hinged door on each side for the speakers. Has a great design that makes it look like a Florence Knoll cabinet. PLEASE NOTE: The cabinet displays well- but does have some inconsistencies to the clear coat finish on the wood. I cleaned off the many years of accumulated surface dust with some furniture polish. In one pic I have the speaker cloth covers removed to show the speaker setup. There are no veneer chips or gouges or deep scratches but there are some imperfections. I don't feel that they detract from the overall impact of this piece- but I want to be clear that it is a nice looking vintage piece that is not perfect. There are some faint waves to the veneer in a few areas- not actual ... morebubbles or lumps- just some faint waves. You can kind of make it out in the pics so please look at them and email any questions. There are a few areas on the surfaces that have a slight haze when you look at them from certain angles in direct light. The chrome on the legs is not rusted and is in nice condition without pits. There are no water stains or sun fading areas- but there is a small area on the top surface of the far left side that has a slight light spot. This side also has some very light feathery scratches. There is also an area to the front panel- center bottom where there is a slight light area to the finish- you can see both of these areas in the pics. I don't want to make the piece sound bad- just trying to go over the top and be super critical so that I convey the piece accurately. The cabinet is ready to display as is- but if you wanted perfection it would certainly be an easy piece to restore. This is a seldom seen model of vintage Packard Bell stereo equipment. The back of the cabinet is finished and designed to be viewed from all sides if you want to place it that way. This piece was old dealer stock- it never left the shop where I got it. It had been

There is no brand name on the neck so it is not known who made this neck. What we do know is that this is one of the nicest feeling and playing necks we've felt. Both the maple and the rosewood fingerboard have a beautiful grain pattern and feel. Especially on the rosewood, there is amazing figure with light and dark streaks running down the fingerboard.
