And often include a tall cap, to allow the bridge to be custom-fitted to your playing style. I use antique select(highly figured. Or flame) maple for the spans, and plantation-grown rosewood for the caps. The curve in the cap wood is designed to allow a longer vibrating length for the second string. Martin USA 00-21(Grand Concert) Made in 1967, Serial# is 228XXX. One of the last Martins with a Brazilian Rosewood body. This guitar was extremely well kept and has never had any significant body, neck or head repairs; the binding is tight and in excellent condition. This guitar just came back from a complete renewal by a authorized Martin Luthier. It got a neck reset, bridge reglue, a new handmade pickguard installed(nobody stocks a replacement in the original black, which was shriveled up beyond usefulness) a new nut, some regluing of teh internal bracing, some fretwork and a buffing to bring out the shine in the original finish- total bill was $880.00. In short, its 100% ready to play for several more decades. For sale is this beautiful mid century cabinet with etagere top. Not sure of the woods but there is a nice rich reddish color and graining to the veneer. The base cabinet is 18 1/4" deep x 48" wide and 31 1/4" high. The removable etagere top is 8 1/2" deep x 37" high. This gives the cabinet a total of 66" in height when combined. This is a vintage piece that is in very good condition but does have normal fading and wear. There are a couple of nicks on the front of the cabinet door. Very Limited Edition solid brazilian rosewood neck(the holy grail of tone woods! In 1999 just 250 of these very special guitars were made by PRS. Number 1 of 250 was presented to Ted McCarty and this is Number 2! of 250. Low number collectors items always fetch reach the highest investment value and you can not get lower than this one. It has been kept in a temperature controled smoke free environment in a secure room with my personal collection. My own first choice guitar is another Private Stock McCarty with a solid brazilian neck and I would not play a guitar without this amazing tone wood. My Les Pauls sound dull after playing this. It will hurt to part with this one but I have twins going to Uni this month and that is going to hurt my pocket too! The colour is violin amber and is a 10 top. The Brazilian neck is the darkest I have ever ... moreseen on a PRS. Private stocks included. It is mint condition other than some oxidation on the pick up covers which always happens with PRS guitars as Paul refuses to compromise on the nickle content of his pickup covers. The McCarty is modeled on a 59' Les Paul. It sounds very similar, a tremendously powerful sound when distorted, on the edge of feedback and a clean sound that is rich and full of harmonics. VINTAGE ANTIQUE ROSEWOOD DRUMSTICKS BEAUTIFUL SHAPE LEEDY LUDWIG EARLY 1900'S
Up for auction is a pair of dark stained antique drumsticks which I believe to be rosewood. I am unsure of their age or where they are from originally. They were found with my late Father-In-Law's drum kit. I was told he got them from his father. My guess is they are from the 1920's. They appear unused and are in great shape for their age. The sticks measure 16 1/4" long and 5/8" diameter at the butt end. There is a 1/4" x 3/8" very shallow"chip" on one of the sticks(see photo for details) Please note- I am NOT a drum expert in any way. Look at the pictures and ask questions prior to bidding on these sticks. They are sold as is and I'm sure the winning bidder will be very happy with them. RARE STANLEY USA STEEL& ROSEWOOD 104 LIBERTY BELL COMMEMORATIVE PLANE 1876
From my 30 year collection of woodworking tools. A good 1876 USA Stanley No104 Liberty Bell bench plane. Made of steel with rosewood fitting the plane commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the declaration of Independence. The removable bronze lever cap is cast with a Liberty bell and the numerals 76. The rosewood handle had a split in it and I have made a good repair which is hardly noticeable. The handles on these plane were purpose made and different from the Standard Stanley planes. The brass cap screw is a replacement I had made professionally sometime ago. It looks good and is similar to the original. The Patent Nos are 168& 1761875/1876 Justus A Taut and H Richards. I am not sure if the blade is the original but it is fine. Rosewood Color, Rose at Top, Leaf Sides, 26-1/2" wide x 42" high x 1" thick! Remarks(see the explanation above) Nice mirror from an estate. I don't know how old it is. If I were to guess. I'd guess 1970's or 80's. Please take a look at the pictures to judge for yourself. I think the frame is made of solid wood based on the grain and knots seen on the reverse side. It is finished in a rich dark red color. Kind of like rosewood I think. I don't know what sort of wood it is made of. The frame is dusty and there are various rubs. Nics, scratches and scrapes here and there that expose a light colored wood under the red finish. I would use a dark colored oil to clean the finish, which would probably make those marks disappear. I can also see various hairline cracks to the frame. One looks like it might have been glued at some point. None are noticable in my opinion, and like the other marks

1985 FENDER SQUIRE STRATOCASTER, JAPAN, ROSEWOOD, EX PLAYER, EX SOUND, QUALITY
Very nice quality early Fender Squire Stratocaster. Made in Japan. These early Squire strats were known for their excellent sound, fit and finish, playability, quality and sound. This guitar has a few small nicks and dings, one larger ding on the side/butt of the guitar. This larger ding has no affect on the looks of the guitar when playing, the structure, the playability or the longevity. This guitar has no wear on the frets, fingerboard or neck. It has the excellent early Japanese Strat pickups, the early quality closed back tuners, adjustable bridge saddles(no vibrato bar-was lost) The guitar plays beautifully, smooth, fast and easy to play, no buzzing, straight neck, perfect intonation. Sad face. I can't stand to see this one go. My son needs the cash for his car. So this guitar(practically a member of the family) has to go. If you're looking for pristine and 100% original. This is not the guitar for you. If you want a guitar that plays like a REAL Road-Ready rocker that's got a superb sound, this is something to consider! It was originally white and has naturally aged to almost a cream yellow. It takes years to get this color in an honest way. And this one does it to the nines. It screamed"Buy me" when I purchased it in 2010 from whom I believe was the first owner. I think it is a 1992. This guitar feels just right when you play it. It is very very used. But hasn't been abused! You'll see that the finish has all kinds of swirlies and dings(and even a melty place pictured) and wear on the back ... morefrom working against dark clothing. Antique Ansonia Rosewood Mantle/Shelf Clock
Up for auction today is this Nice Antique Ansonia Rosewood Mantle/Shelf Clock. Excellant running condition. Measures 16 5/8" tall x 9 7/8" wide x 4 5/8" deep. A label on the back shows that it had some work done in 1985. Unfortunately I don't know what was done to this clock. I'm guessing the movement was cleaned and regulated. It appears part of the inside of the case was lines with a brown felt. It was nicely applied and has a very nice appearance. The movement is very clean and has a June 18.1882 patent date. The door glass is missing a little bit of the gold decoration. I believe the dial is a paper replacement. The door knob is thermoplastic(or gutta percha) The case finish appears to be original. SUPERB ANTIQUE 19TH C CHINESE CARVED ROSEWOOD FIGURE OF QUAN YIN IN FLOWING ROBE
Up for your consideration is this SPECTACULAR antique Chinese carved figure. It is carved from rosewood(possibly boxwood) And is in the form of Quan Yin. The quality of the carving is SUPERB! The flowing of her robes creates so much movement throughout the piece! It is really unbelievable! She is lacquered in a warm lacquer with hints of cherry color. This piece measures approximately 12" tall, by 4 3/4" wide, and 3" deep. It is in EXCELLENT antique condition. It looks as though there might be an old repair to a natural crack in the wood at her back, but I cannot be sure. Circa 19th century.
