They have a broad shaped top rail which is domed in the centre above a single rail, the seats are upholstered in blue patterned fabric with polka detail, the chairs stand on turned tapering fluted front legs and splayed square back legs. c.19th WALNUT Or Mahogany MOP INLAID VICTORIAN Edwardian LADIES SEWING BOX
This beautiful little sewing box appears to be in original condition although some of the trinkets inside may be from different periods in history. It looks to be most likely mahogany but could be walnut. Take a look at the photos and judge for yourself. The box measures approximately 9 7/8 inches wide by 6 7/8 inches deep by 4 inches high. It features pretty mother of pearl inlay on the lid and keyhole. I do not have the key. The lining is a pretty deep dark blue. Most of the compartments lift out for extra storage underneath. The box needs a little TLC but not much. There is a button or two missing from the tops of the velvet compartment lids. The screws that hold the lid to the body of the box need tightened. There are two cracks on the lid of the box(see photos) The cracks in no way inhibit the sturdiness of the box and the lid is not ... moreloose at all. The whole box is very solid and pretty. There may have at one time been a velevet or paper covering on the bottom of the box but it is no longer there. You can replace it or not. Very nice dulcimer recently purchased on eBay. Actually looking for an electronic instrument. And would rather not"adapt" this one as it is really a nice constructed. The seller told me he believes it was crafted in New England and probably dates from the 60s or 70s. It does not have the 6 1/2 fret of modern dulcimers so I can see that, but it is very modern in design, particularly the scroll head. Pictured here is an exceptionally fine C. 1820 New York 4 drawer miniature chest in excellent condition. It has been refinished to show the vibrant crotch mahogany and curly maple grains. Other than a couple of very minor veneer patches. The chest looks very much the way it did when it was made. The cotter pinned hardware is fire gilt and original. The drawers are dovetailed and the bottoms are champhered. The woods are mahogany and some poplar as secondary wood. Dimensions are 15 1/2" wide. 9 1/2" deep, and 17" tall. The top drawer. Which is veneered curly maple. Was probably intended as a secret drawer but the catch for the bottom is missing. It could easily be repaired. This auction is for 1 table and 2 benches as pictured I have a love for the old cast iron bases made from the late 1800s to the 1940s. So I designed and built the A Frame to emulate them. The table base is made out of heavy gauge steel and aged to perfection. It has two connecting rods with large nuts that support and join the bases. The top is made of solid 2" mahogany and is trimmed with a metal riveted edge. The benches are made from the same 2" mahogany and have matching connecting rods. The rectangular top has rounded corners and an adjustable center section inlaid with a brown leather panel decorated with gilt tooling. Flanking the center section are two hinged panels which open outward to reveal compartments. One open and the other with dividers. The front of the piece has a frieze center drawer with its original brass lock. Flanking this center drawer are two keyholes and locks which secure the compartments above. What IS it? A set of antique hand-carved fluted Corinthian columns from a Philadelphia home built in 1887. There are two free-standing columns and two sets of two columns each that go against a wall. The two freestanding columns are round. The two sets of columns that go against a wall are square with five flutes across the fron t of each and four flutes on each side. The carving on these columns is very fine and beautifully executed. How big? Height is 79 3/8 inches. Width of capitals at their widest is 8 1/2 inches. Antique Mahogany Newel Post and 12' Railing - SOLID WOOD - Architectural Salvage
Available here is an antique newel post and railing. These are made of solid mahogany. No veneer here. You can't get anything like this anymore! The newel post stands almost 5' high. It is approximately 57" from floor to top of finial. It is in three pieces, a square base with a rounded stand, the rounded post and the top finial. The largest part of the square base is approximately 17.75"x17.75" There are threaded rods on the inside that connect the base and post together, the finial sits on top. There are specks of white paint around the newel post. I will let the buyer decide how to remove it. This newel post is meant to be at the bottom of a staircase. The railing is 12' long and approximately 5.5" wide. It is also made of solid mahogany. The bottom of the railing mounts flush onto the newel post. Offered for sale is a Stunning Baker Furniture Hepplewhite Inlaid Mahogany Demilune Sideboard/Server/Buffet. This bowfront sideboard features two deep drawers and four curved doors with storage cabinets. All with beautiful brass carved pulls. The top drawer has the Baker nameplate and a green silverware liner and the drawer below is a tambour-style with an arched surround. The mahogany features a gorgeous inlaid cross-banded border with inlaid stringing all supported on six tapered legs with spade feet. The sideboard measures 66" wide x 37" high x 27.5" deep. I believe this sideboard is 20-25 years old but I am not sure of the exact age. It may be older. Overall it is in excellent condition with the following exceptions: there are a few light scuffs/scratches on the top(see pic#11) and the back left leg has a hairline crack ... morethat extends from the foot upwards approximately 3-4 inches(see pic#12) This crack does not appear to affect the sturdiness of the piece. The ripples run both left to right and front to back and we believe are due to the humidity change coming over from England. The piece is structurally sound and the ripples are only visible in certain lights but we wanted to disclose them as much as possible. Each panel of the cabinet features an oval flame mahogany inlay with a straight grain mahogany quartered border. The effect is quite striking. Inside the locking cabinet door is one fixed wooden shelf. This buffet sits on four spade feet. And there is some minor wear to one of the feet as shown. Overall this is a very unusual piece that is sturdy and will last for many, many years to come. It has a wide variety of possible uses in the home and could be a versatile part of your decor. Antique wooden tray- I believe this is made from maghogany. Lovely detail of vine leaves. Irises and other flora. About 100 years old in an Art Nouveau style. Needs a good clean(I have left uncleaned to allow for the original patina to be left) and a splash of polish. Overall very good vintage/antique condition. Antique Style Gilt and Mahogany Mirror Made in England .
This is a very nice solid mahogany mirror made in England it has very nice carving and has been gilded. The mirror is beveled and in good condition. there are a few small crack were the joints are on the front. Not sure if they have opened up or meant to be like that to look more antique. Measurements are 46 high. 34 wide.

Beautiful French antique pyramid mahogany miniature chest of drawers
This is such a beautiful miniature chest of drawers. I bought it from France so it is likely to be french. Made in pyramid mahogany with a dark black/greyish marble top. The knobs are made of metal. I believe this to made second half 1800´s.1860-1880. Beside being beautiful it has no less than Two! hidden compartments.one at top and one at bottom. To open the one at the top. You have to open the first drawer. To be able to open the one att the bottom you have to pull out the second drawer and use a little pull mechanism hidden on the inside of the chest. Now this could be an ideal jewelry box. And to keep secret love letters in the hidden compartments. BUT. It could also be a lovely display with you french fashion dolls or french bebe´s. Condition is generally good. Only a small missing piece of mahogany on the inside of one of ... morethe front legs, hardly visible. Kee is missing. Measures: Stone top. 14 inches long(36cm) width slight less than 7,5inch(18cm) Hight slight less than 8,5 inch(21cm) This is a heavy piece. And also due to the stone top it is slight fragile and need lots and lots of wrapping and secure packing(which of course is free) but this will affect the shipping cost.
