This is a beautifully executed carving of an African Elephant in solid ebony.It is approximately 8.5" long.4.5" high and weighs 2.5 pounds. It was purchased in Nairobi, Kenya in the early 1980s. Ebony is one of the most dense woods and it requires painstaking effort to carve. It is very rare nowadays as the Serengeti is almost depleted of these trees. Beautiful handcarved ebony statues. One is handcarved by Makonde tribe in Tanzania genuine ebony nat. The other was handcarved in Kenya. There are no returns on these. In excellent condition almost like new. I just acquired these, but I need to downsize. They are from a non-smoking pet free home. Dimensions are as follow: height 14inches for both. This a vintage African Tree of Life/ Family Unity carving made from one piece of wood. The folk art ebony sculpture is the work of tribal craftsmen in Africa. The scene shows how one generation builds upon one another and how each generation will be successful as long as they band together. The sway of the family unity tree shows how more cooperation is necessary as the generations/ villages grow or our society will collapse. Southwestern watch band, inlayed in Turquoise, Coral, MOP, and Ebony
This beautiful Southwestern watch band is done in what I believe is a"Zuni" style geometric pattern. As you see. The clips are inlayed in Turquoise, Coral, MOP and Ebony. The overall length is 7 3/16" and the clips will fit as small as a 14mm watch lug spacing. The band is in great condition. The expanding part of the band is a Speidel. I was told when I bought it, that it was sterling silver, but I can not find any hallmarks or signature of maker.

We picked up a number of vintage African wood carvings including this tremendously energetic. And exceptional, African abstract sculpture. The 11 1/2" tall sculpture of a man and woman, entwined, is tremendously graceful(please review photos) it may be a fertility image but I don't know for certain. Although the figure is unsigned I believe the label, on the bottom, indicates it was made in Kenya. Whoever the artist is, he/she is as fine a sculpture of abstract art as can be found anywhere. It was made in GERMANY I looked up the date code by the serial number on the Clarinet which is 204461 and it looks to me like this was made in 1980.but you can check it out for yourself by looking up the serial number. It's a Bb(B-flat) E11 This is a Black Ebony Wood Clarinet. The metal is Nickel.the Nickel Rim on the bell has a scuff on it which you should be able to see in the photo of the bell.not a big deal but I wanted to point it out. The salesman told me that the Clarinet needs to be re-padded. There is a little nick out of one end which I have marked with a red arrow.I showed it to Salesman and he said it was no problem at all and would not affect play of the instrument. He checked out the spring action on the levers and said they are fine.and there is a little pitting on a few spots. It comes in what I think is the original case which is a little scuffed and may be missing a few little feet on the back of the case which you should be able to see in one of the photos.there is something
