The carving is excellently done with great detail on the shape of the candle holder and the elephants in the center. They stand 10 and 1/2 inches tall and a llittle over 2 inches wide. I bought these many years ago at an estate auction. These pieces are of solid real wood. Not a re-production or a mass produced item. Vintage Black Memorabilia Tribal African Bar-ware Set Carved in Ebony Wood
This very old antique bar-ware set was left to me by my Grandmother. They were never used as bar-ware. Only for display. These two African figurines are carved out of ebony wood. The female is actually a nutcracker and a corkscrew. She is about 9" tall and can stand on her feet. She cracks the nuts between her thighs which has ridges, and her head comes off which shows the corkscrew. She is wearing a red leather skirt and has a little wear on the bottom of her feet. The litttle boy is a corkscrew and a bottle opener. The bottle opener is under his head and looks like his ears. I would not remove his head for fear it may break. He has a chipped foot as you can see in the photos. He too can stand on his feet and is about 6 1/2" tall. I wouldn't use them for a working bar, they're too old for use and may be fragile. Antique G. Pruefer Professional Model clarinet serial number 11691 dates this piece between 1900's to 1920's. The clarinet is a combination of black ebony wood pipes and bakelite mouth piece. Barrel, and bell. All stamped and matching serial. Keys all works and moving. Needs a good clean up. Corks are all tightly fitted. The original mouth piece is missing a cork. It comes with two extra Geo M Bunchy#3 mouth piece, two packs of Levy-Page reeds, grease, and cleaning gear, and extra reed clamps. I don ot play instrument and cannot tell you what this sounds like or what key it is. It is in great shape for it's age. Distributed by Carl Fischer of Boston, MA. Original hard case carrier. This was a high end piece of musical instrument when it came out for sure.

Their motivation is unclear. Weak sales? The urge to try something new? In any case, the first SGs were actually called Les Pauls, but Les himself wasn't in favor of that for a variety of reasons. So, in a bold move, this solid guitar was renamed SG, which stood for, uh, solid guitar.
