Laser Marker Safety Shutter For CLC and other Nd:YAG lasers
This was removed from a Control Laser Corp. CLC, industrial Nd:YAG laser marking system. The laser was working fine when taken out of service. We dismantled the laser head and are currently working on dismantling the power supply. Several other laser manufacturers used identical or similar mechanical shutter mechanisms to block the laser beam when not in use. This is a common design using a Leedex rotary motor and a steel plate. This also has an indicator light to warn the user when the shutter is open. There are dust boots on both side to support the dust tubes. The three pin barrel style connector is in perfect condition as well.

This auction includes one water cooled laser mirror as shown. If it is not in the photos. Then you do not get it. Manufacturer is unknown, however, the design is similar to II-VI Infrared for the same part. The laser mirror was previously utilized on a high power CO2 laser for metal cutting. It has a reflective gold plated surface. The gold plated surface can be seen in the outdoor photos reflecting the clouds. And in the indoor photo it shows the minor imperfections. This coated mirror can be utilized for any laser that is reflected by gold, including CO2, YAG, fiber laser, ruby laser, erbium laser, and others. It is great for projects and hobbyists or other applications. The water cooling is optional to utilize because the body is very large and will absorb the heat better than the tiny mirrors commonly sold. This is a 4mm by 80mm Nd:YAG laser rod removed from a 90 watt laser system. This rod was removed from an Electrox Scriba laser but could be used in a CLC. Lee Laser, JEC Laser, US Laser and many more laser systems that use a 4mm by 80mm rod. The vernier caliper shows that the actual dimensions are 3.97mm by 79.58mm which is good because the OD may not exceed 4mm diameter and the length cannot go under 78.5mm for most uses. There are no chips or cracks in the surfaces. There is normal wear from producing laser energy in a lamp fired system. This rod has good end surfaces and can be re-polished for like new results. The oscillator has two 1/4" rods so is of a dualpass configuration and the amplifier has one 3/8th's" rod. The oscillator module looks perfect. There is no visible debris or optical damage to be seen. The rod in the amplifier module has a very small speck dead center on either the output window or the end of the rod. Otherwise it looks as nice as the oscillator module. Both of these used external resonator optics. Since both modules were water cooled they will have to be flushed or cleaned in some matter which is beyond my means. A fun laser for hobbyists; though rated at 10W it c an easily be pushed to 15W and feel no ill effect. With a properly heated KTP crystal one should be able to get 5W of green from this cavity. It has an AOM(acoustic-optical modulator) that can be used to modulate the beam to a minimum pulse width of about 15ns- perfect for laser engravers.
