This is a 4mm by 80mm Nd:YAG laser rod removed from a 90 watt laser system. This rod was removed from an Electrox Scriba laser but could be used in a CLC. Lee Laser, JEC Laser, US Laser and many more laser systems that use a 4mm by 80mm rod. The vernier caliper shows that the actual dimensions are 3.97mm by 79.58mm which is good because the OD may not exceed 4mm diameter and the length cannot go under 78.5mm for most uses. There are no chips or cracks in the surfaces. There is normal wear from producing laser energy in a lamp fired system. This rod has good end surfaces and can be re-polished for like new results. This is a rare find! It is a 20mm diameter DPSS end pumping assembly for 20 to 100W+ green DPSS lasers. The design of this optic allows the user to end pump most Yag or YVO4 laser crystals up to 1.5cm long and 1/4 inch diameter effectively. The 1064 side faces the rod. And the 808nm side faces the roughly collimated pump diode beam. It can take several hundreds of watts at 808nm and over 200W of IR 1064nm power as well. Your choice of lasing crystal is the only realistic limiting factor. It is made out of a special mirror that is HR 1064nm, and AR 808nm and a BBIR intracavity lens. Due to the design, it is quite tolerant of small misalignments making it ideal for portable high energy laser applications requiring ultra high power. Spectra Physics Quanta-Ray YAG amplifier cavity assembly for 7004 laser w/rod
YAG cavity assembly for model 7004 laser. The label on the side reads"Quanta Ray 9.5 Yag assembly" There are 2 check boxes. One is"oscillator and the other"amplifier" The"amplifier" box is checked. Rod is approximately 10mm thick by 62mm long. I did not remove to get an accurate measurement. It could be 9.5mm thick per the model number. This cavity takes 2 flash/arc lamps. The internal dia. of the"O" rings for the lamps are 12.5mm. I would assume a 13mm lamp would fit nicely. The gold plated cavity is 51mm long. So figure a lamp with active area this long or shorter would suffice. This unit is in great shape with the exception of the gold plating which does not shine like a mirror anymore. It is bubbled in places(see pics) and the texture is roughened from heat. It should still work fine but would ... morenot produce the energy levels of a reflector in prime condition. You can get these resurfaced at places such as laser 2000 and the like. The nice rod alone is well worth the price if you have one of these lasers and need a replacement. Pulled from working equipment. Laser head is the heart of the Quantronix Hawk laser system. the rod is in perfect condition and actually appears new. The laser diodes are also in excellent condition. All diodes function and I tested the unit@ low power to verify all emitters do function perfectly. FAC lenses are mounted to the diodes for best power focus to the rod. you will get 2 complete laser heads with rods and one set of pump diodes. High Power Coherent VLOC Mirror Coated Nd:Yag Laser Rod 50J Peak Energy Output
This is a Nd:Yag laser rod with mirror coated ends. The rod is about 1/4 inch diameter and 4 inches long It was originally part of a machine that welded electrodes inside vacuum tubes. It can produce pulsed energy up to 50J with powers peaking into the multiple tens of kilowatts. The OC end has slight damage from improper cleaning. But it does not significantly affect the use of this rod for a hobby laser. Mirror coated laser rods are extremely rare and hard to find. The laser rod needs a strong flash lamp to drive it since the dopant level is quite high. I had good luck firing the rod with the flash lamp in my other listing plus 1250V 250uF with 75 turns of 10 gauge wire as the smoothing choke/trigger transformer. The output of this rod makes those SSY-1 lasers look like a bug zapper compared to an arc welder. Where the SSY1 will flash and ... moresmoke stuff, this one will actually light the smoke on fire and burn all the way through electrical tape in one shot without focusing. Please be careful with this laser part! Definitely not something you can find at Radio Shack! I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
