I wouldn't call it bright at all. I had it on for about 45 seconds. It got warm quickly, ONLY WARM) so I turned it off. I did so well before it got even slightly uncomfortable to touch. It came to me with an elaborate fan assembly that I discarded, since it took up too much storage space and I couldn't tell how to hook it up. That is why I have taken so much care to not let it get hot. A couple hours after the initial test, I turned ... moreit on again for about 15 seconds to see if I had fried it, and get a photo. The same blue light came on, and was captured in the photo. The beam is not what I would call very bright, and there is a tiny grain of sand-type rattle coming from the laser assembly. Uniphase High Power DPSS Yag YVO4 Laser Crystal Block 300-500mw 532nm Green
This is an optically contacted YVO4/KTP in a small aluminum mount. This means that there is no glue to burn up leaving the limit to power up to the thermal management system you design and the damage threshold of the coatings. It was for a very high power DPSS laser of up to 500mw CW. The crystal itself measures about 5mm and the pumped portion is 2mm in diameter. I tested it with an 808nm 2W laser diode and it lights up making a very bright green beam that made dark plastic smoke. This item is very hard to find. I have lots of laser and other unique stuff for sale this week.
