One interesting thing to use this for is to observe the sun for solar CME events with an ordinary camera since they emit a significant level of 900+nm light. This is a very useful optical part. Auction Wizard 2000 Listing Template- AW2KLOT#184 Unknown JDS Uniphase Diode-pumped Laser. Marked'IR' I don't really know too much(OK. Less than nothing. about this item. From the label on the side of the cover I can tell it was manufactured by JDS Uniphase in May of 2000, and it appears to be a solid-state diode-pumped laser of some sort. There is a model number on the side(NU-1/520-000) along with a serial number, 000087. In black marker, on the side of the outer cover, someone has written'IR ONLY' Oddly, I have another, almost identical in all respects including model number, but the outer cover is marked'UV' Please check it out as well. There is a seal(present) between the upper and lower housings but only two of the Allen cap screws are present. It appears that at one time there may also have been an inner ... morecover(there is a grommet on the lead set from the DB-15 connector on the bottom part of the housing that is positioned at the edge of the central plate with all the optics. But I cannot see how this inner cover would have been attached, if it was present) The inner optics carrier plate has a label with the identification'NU 000102' printed upon it. Everything on the optics plate appears to be intact and undisturbed. Please see the last photo for the configuration of the optics. The condition appears to be excellent except for the missing screws(easily replaced) The window on the outer cover exit port is without blemish. I have no idea what kind of power supply is required none was present and I could find nothing on-line specific to this laser. Thanks for looking. For auction is a large 50 50 beam splitter. This was from an optics lab used for FTIR infrared and HeNe laser testing. It appears like one side is gold coated. It had the pictured lab printout in the bag it was stored in. It looks like from the rear(non coated) side there are some cracks in the substrate material. It looks like the material is BaF2 or CaF2 based on the sheet. I cannot test. So being sold As-Is in pictured condition.

I believe it would slightly diverge IR coming through it. It looks like germanium. But the measurements do not support this. I measured the thickness with a micrometer halfway between the center and edge. And got.197 thousandths of an inch or.50038 cm. The diameter is 2.3 inches or 5.84 cm. I did the math, and if this were pure germanium it should weigh 71.3 grams. Actual weight is 63.2. Far too heavy to be silicon, but low for germanium. It must be an alloy. It is a bit radioactive. Showing an average of 50 CPM on my CDV 700. This counter registers zero alpha, and about half of beta. Thorium is the most likely contributor to the count. This could be the optical coating, or could ... morebe part of the alloy. I cannot promise the composition of this item. I can only say that it's density is close to 4.72. While germanium is 5.323. I would consider this item to be in good to very good condition. Please examine the photos and message me if you need further details. The fine scratches and defects I can see only under bright sunlight. There are edge chips visible in the photos. And the optical coating does not quite reach the edges. A repaired PGL-H module pulled from a damaged PGL-III-C host. It has been realigned to allow for a slightly longer run time. With a better mode quality than when I recieved it. It generally outputs in the 50mW range, sometimes peaking as high as 75mW. I will include a no delay 3V driver, and tail spring, as well as the collimating lens+mount for the assembly that were in the laser with it. all you would need to do is craft a body or heat-sink to put the module into for operation to prevent overheating damage. My last quote for a new unit of these modules is well over $1300 without the lenses or filter etc. These are very rare, and may be one of the last ones produced as they are being discontinued soon.
