This is a 2x2 inch square of Schott glass filter that passes wavelengths longer than 800nm. It was designed either for laser filter use or photographic use. I took a picture of some trees outside and you can see it filters out nearly all the visible light. The hot pink color is how most digital cameras see near infrared light. You can barely see through it. This glass is nice to use when testing laser pointers for leakage of 1064nm or 808nm as it blocks all the green light.
