Up for sale is a very nice and clean air-cooled Argon ION LASER with power supply. The model number of the laser head is 532-TOPO-A01 and it was manufactured in March 2002 by Melles Griot. The model number of the power supply is 150J and it is configured for 115V AC power. The laser has only 492.3 hours of operation(that is less than 10% of the normal life-time of the laser tube) and appears to works flawlessly. I believe this was used for confocal laser microscopy. The laser emits a strong. Bright blue beam. I believe the wavelength of the beam is 488nm but I don't have any means to measure or confirm that. The tube current(pin 26 of the remote connector) shows 400mV and this is equivalent to 4 Ampere(0.1V/A) The reading goes up as soon as the front or back mirror alignments are touched. This indicates perfect alignment of both mirrors ... moreand that the unit operates in light feedback mode. I don't have access to a laser power meter but tried to capture the beam shape on my garage door panel and the unit in operation to show the strong symmetric blue beam. Lexel 95-4 Argon Ion Laser& Power Supply For sale- a Lexel 95 Argon Ion Laser and Power Supply. I initially passed on buying this because I already have too many big ion lasers. Including several Lexel 95 variants. But I guess the original buyer didn’t pick it up in a timely manner so it was offered again. What got me interested the second time around was that I had a chance to open it up and found that it was a 95-4 and that the timer was only showing about 2100 hours. I had a 95-4 awhile back and it sold pretty quickly(something I cannot say for the 95-2 I have listed already) So I thought I would take a chance on it after all. So I bought it in spite of the surplus info which indicated it wasn’t working. I offer that in the spirit of full disclosure. Obviously I could have omitted that bit of information, maybe even added something ... moreridiculous like it came from a working environment. I had expected to open it up and find it had 5000 hours and I would have passed on it a second time. But with reasonably low hours on it I decided to ignore the seller’s condition statement. This came from a large well funded university. My experience has been that sometimes they say something is in great shape and I get it home and it won’t even come on. And then I buy something from them that isn’t working and it works just fine. In the latter case I suspect that it simply is easier to say something doesn’t work if you just want something newer. Nicer, better, particularly if both the old and new piece are expensive. Let me note that both my personal flat panel monitor and HP LaserJet printer that I am currently using had condition codes indicating they needed repair. But no repairs were necessary. So maybe you get lucky. Maybe with 3 phase power(that I don’t have) The right coolant flow, and maybe a purge gas you can fire the thing right up and go to work. Maybe not. Prior to bidding it occurred to me that if in fact it wasn’t working that might be a power supply issue. Possibly an easy fix. So I opened up the PS for some

The tube is a Lexel Laser model 85S but the magnet sleve is not the original one and have more than 1500 hours use. The tube is almost 547 mm long measured from end to end of brewster windows. I have measured almost 2.5 W@ 26 Amp but now I can not measure I do not have the tunning bed and power supply. Before listing I have tested with high voltage transformer and the light is good in both brewster window and I belibe that the power will be good!
