Napco Vacuum Oven 5831 Up for auction is a used Napco Vacuum Oven 5831 that is in decent physical condition. There are a couple scuff marks on the casing and the temperature dial has a chuck cracked off. But it is otherwise undamaged. For more information on the cosmetic condition please refer to the pictures below. Item Specifications: Model: 5831. Temperature: 35C- 200C. Serial: 9204-002. Cat No. 5831-120. Inner Dimensions: 11.5 x 8 x 8(inches) When testing. The oven heated up with no problems. I first slowly heated it up at 50% power which raised the temperature slightly. When at 100% power it heated quickly and reached an inner surface temperature of around 240F* after 10 minutes. Once heated all the way up, the heating light turned off at lower settings as expected. Using a vacuum pump I sealed the oven and it reached almost 28 Hg(inches ... moremercury) and held. It held for more than 20 minutes at the same pressure with no change. We have a used vacuum oven from Precision Scientific Group. The nameplate is somewhat scuffed up but it appears to be a model 100. The oven heats up and overall it is in great shape. We have not tested it for vacuum but it came from a working environment and the gasket is in very good condition. The only minor concern is some damage to the insulation on the plug(see picture)

The thermometer in the back/top corner maxed-out and then some(as expected) The vacuum pump we used is only good for 26"Hg. But over the weekend with ... morethe valves closed, the vacuum level stayed the same. With a thermocouple stuck into the airspace of the oven through the side of the front door, we measured 215ºC maximum(dial set to 9.5, heater off at 216 and on again at 214) No other testing was done.
