This machine is made by Epilog. It is a 50 watt 2003 Legend 24EX. Manufactured in 2003 and purchased new straight from Epilog in 2004 We are its first owners and have been using it ever since. We used it primarily for cutting masking tape. CerMarking, engraving in wood and glass, and engraving in painted and powder coated sheet metal items. For the last few months, we had been using it to cut Kydex. This laser runs on a 32 bit operating system. The laser tube is still working perfectly. There are some patches of rust in the machine. But only cosmetic and on the surface. It's not structurally affected at all. It was oiled and sealed to prevent further spreading. The only reason this machine is listed under"not working" is because one month ago. The LED screen stopped working. I called Epilog and they told me that after 10 years, ... morethat happens. They quoted me $610.45 + shipping for a new one(the old one just has to be shipped back to them) Used working screens are about $400. There is nothing else wrong with it. We have always done a regular cleaning on this machine and have all the receipts for the last 2 years of work we've done to it. Nothing major. This CO2 Laser Marker is mechanically and electrically in good condition. New lenses and bearings were replaced last year. The only deficiency is the gradual loss of laser power from the 30W laser tube. Which has about 15W output, but that power is still quite effective. This is typical with CO2 tubs over time and it can be recharged for full power engraving. Those that understand the laser recognize that good focus is still what is required for good engraving. Good engraving can be done using a little slower and multiple passes to get the full engrave job done. Focus is self adjusting with the push of a button. 15 Watts is still a powerful laser. We are selling an LS-800 Laser Engraving Machine from Gravograph. We provide service and sales of Gravograph machinery and occasionally purchase equipment to refurbish and sell. This machine is being sold as-is and has not been refurbished in order to save you a bunch of cash on this great deal. The machine is in good condition and is lasering with great quality on the entire table. We will be willing to refurbish the laser at an additional cost after the sale is complete. The items on this machine that could use changing now or in the future are: Lens& Mirror Assembly. The current lens and mirrors are visibly worn but are functioning and it does not appear to be affecting the engraving quality. A new lens and mirror should provide even more laser power. The current tube is lasering fine and seems to be at a good power even with the current lens and mirror. The laser is firing and engraving the total width and height of the engraving table. However. We believe the laser tube is the original and most tubes last between 5 and 10 years before they start to lose power. You will most likely have to recharge the tube, which typically costs between $2000 and $3000. We can not guarantee how long the current tube will last.
