New Hermes Motorized Engravograph Machine GM3 GM-3 Used but Nice
Description For sale is this used New Hermes Engravograph machine. Looking at the label on the back(see pictures) I think this is a model GM3. If you are looking at this auction you probably know more about this than I do. I will do my best to describe it. If I missed anything please ask me a question. Machine measures approximately 15 X 15 inches at the base. Removable part of platen for stencils is 26 inches across. Fixed blank part is 16" across. Height to top of motor is approximately 15 inches. Base is cast aluminum. Machine is used, but I don't see anything functionally wrong with it. Nothing is bent or broken, nothing shows signs of abuse or misuse. All the various movable parts move smoothly, all the swiveling parts turn smoothly, all the clamps hold securely. Nothing is loose or has play from excessive wear. Motor runs fine, ... moreit spins up fast and runs smoothly. The attached spindle looks fine. I'm not sure how power transfers from the motor to the spindle, I assume the belt is missing. Machine was in storage for some time. Exposed steel parts have some surface rust from machine sitting unused. It's not bad and nothing is pitted. All screws, pivots, and moving parts will need to be greased/ lubricated. For shipping I have removed the motor and it's supporting arm. The platen, and the pantograph arm from the machine. These parts will be individually wrapped. It will make it easier to pack and reduce the chance of damage in shipment. You will need a screwdriver and an Allen wrench to put these parts back on. IF YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE REASSEMBLING THIS PLEASE DON'T BID. I may split it into two or more boxes for shipping. BUYER PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING. Vintage New Hermes Engravograph Machine for Parts or Repair
Description For sale is this old New Hermes Engravograph machine. If you are looking at this auction you probably know more about this than I do. I will do my best to describe it. If I missed anything please ask me a question. Looking at the label on back I don't see a model number on this. I think this is a manual non-motorized machine. I don't see any way the spindle would spin and there is no motor or pully. It looks like there is a place where a motor can be mounted, maybe it was an optional upgrade. Machine measures approximately 12 X 14 inches at the base(which is cast aluminum) It is dirty. Bare steel parts have rust. Moving parts show wear from use. Nothing seems to be broken or frozen so it may clean up and be usable- I don't know. I have two vintage engraving machines. Both are New Hermes Engrave O Graph brand. There are some extra parts including pen holders to engrave them. Both of these machines came from the estate of a retired jeweler/ watchmaker. I do not know how to use them. One comes with a motor mounted on the machine. It is smaller than the other machine. The base measures 11-1/2" wide by 13-1/2" deep. It stands approx. 13" tall at the peak of the motor. It looks to be in fantastic shape. I plugged it in and the motor works. The other machine is larger. It measures 12" wide by 17" deep at the base. It is 13" tall atop the spring loaded rod at the center of the machine. There is no motor. Also included are four sets of templates. Three sets are Brass(see photo)s. I do not know how complete they are. However, I see them for sale ... moreon eBay for up to $9.00 each letter. Here is a vintage. Circa 1980's-1990's'New Hermes' brand Engravograph(possibly Pantograph? model T engraving machine. Serial# on the machine is T25928. The motor is the matching New Hermes 1/8 hp motor. We know little about this machine-we were able to power up the motor. It needs a new belt but the motor runs and sounds good. This is a professional-grade engraving machine which our previous jeweler used to engrave wrist watches and jewelry with. We are currently listing the Hermes brand fonts that we used with this engraving machine in separate listings-we have script and art deco fonts as well as old English. We spent about an hour scrubbing and cleaning off the grime of this machine. And now it looks about as good as it's going to look unless you put in some more time to fully detail it. This auction is for a New Hermes Engravograph with many extras. It is a used GM model with serial number GM 707802 and Patent number 3623399. I purchased this from a jewelry store that was no longer using it. It comes with many extras. There is a new diamond cutter that shows in the 7th photo. There are 6 plates used for engraving in the same picture. Two of them are the Black Cross Pen ones. There is the oil used in the prescription bottle. I opened the envelope in the 10th picture and found the centering disc. This machine was manufactured for the Roman Company as the label shows. It is a great piece and from studying it online. I'm not sure what it's for. and some plastic. some new Hermes motor parts. I have too many projects going on and need the room in my garage. so I have to let this go.
