This listing is for a wooden mantle or desktop clock. I do not know for sure what type of wood this clock is constructed out of. But it looks to me like it might be oak and the darker wood could be oak that was stained with a dark stain or maybe it is teak? I just don't know as this was a thrift store find. It was not working when I purchased it and had a hunch that the battery might need replacing. Purchased a new battery for $7, installed it and placed the clock portion back in and it is working just fine! The eagle design is on the darker wood and looks to be like it was something that was laser-cut. The length of the oval base is approximately 8 1/2" the overall height of the clock is 6 1/2" tall; the actual clock has the markings"Quartz" and"Japan Movt" on the clock face. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL HO SCALE BUILDING WITH TONS OF DETAILS. IT OBVIOUSLY TOOK SOMEONE WHO WAS EXTREMELY TALENTED TO BUILD IT. IT IS MADE OF ALL WOOD. THERE ARE A FEW DETAILS THAT ARE METAL OR PLASTIC. LOOKS GREAT, HAS A CERTAIN DOCKSIDE APPEARANCE, BUT WOULD LOOK AT HOME OUT IN THE WAYBACKS OF MOST LAYOUTS. THIS WOOD BUILDING DOES HAVE A BROKEN STAIR CASE WHICH ISN'T NECESSARILY A BAD THING. Large Laser Cut Wood Eagle and Bass Pendulum Wall Clock with Shelf& Mirror Has several eagles and bass cuts. Also a moon at the bottom that holds up the shelf and a sun at the top. I broke the glass that covers the clock. Pictures were taken with the mirror facing the back so you could easily see the details without reflections. Works great. Just needs one"C" battery.
