VINTAGE Retail/Sewing Composition Dress Form / Mannequin with Odd Metal Base
VINTAGE Very unusual retail dress form/ mannequin. We do not believe this was used for sewing. Only visuals. At first look. We thought this was paper mache’ as that is what it looks like. Upon 2 nd look. It appears to be a composition of some type on a rigid fabric covered base or silhouette. A separate metal section keeps the neck and arm areas at attention, so with this cover off, it looks like a robot of sorts. The base is a square one, non adjusting at 15” square and 8-9” tall. The shaft or pole that holds the top skeletal section and cover does adjust up or down some. Its at 63” tall now and it looks as if there may be a couple inched additional, and it goes shorter as well. However my arthritic hands cannot move the metal part at all, so if exact size height is necessary, this may not help you. If I stand right next to it we are about ... morethe same height at 5’ 3” The body part is 15-16“ across the shoulders and 33” 29” 37” The color presents in a pretty gold-bronze. The shell or form part is not perfect at all. But still works as designed. She has some noted wear at the one arm hole, a bit crushed and soft, but again still solid. One breast has a gash puncture-indent and she has composition flaking and loss over her cover. She sounds like she has a lot of issues. And well, she does…BUT she still works, retains that old school retail appearance and would make a wonderful display for an old dress or other show piece. I will ship this in 2 boxes as the base could damage the form in shipping. I have the larger of the 2 boxes estimated in the ebay window. Beautiful 1914 ACME Antique Dress Form Mannequin. The dress form came from a forgotten barn in a Charleston. South Carolina. It has been forgotten and pushed aside, until uncovered this past Fall. The cast iron has turned into a beautiful and rustic brown, leaving the dress form with a industrial feel. The cloth covering the beautiful and feline figure, has been torn and ripped away, leaving her bare and exposed. Her wheels are made of wood and are easy to move under her elegant floral stand. Pictures do not do this model justice. She is fully adjustable, with knobs at her neck, waist and near her base, see photos for details. Antique 1900's Victorian Hall Borchert Dress Form Co. with vintage two piece school uniform. I believe this piece is complete even the wooden wheels! Having the orginal tag on chest stating Hall Borchert Dress Form Co. New York& Chicago. This information is also molded on each of the cast iron legs! The height is adjustable by turning a knob in the middle of the iron cage and it spins to adjust. Each body section is also adjustable by inside screws. I did not adjust these at all so needs to be secured. There is some condition issues with peeling to the body portion(see pictures) but in all for the age I consider this piece to be very good! The vintage 2 piece school uniform was on it and labeled Gay-Uniforms MFGS. Pittsburgh,Pa Wash&Wear. The over the shoulder piece has browning to the white color. Vintage Sears Twinfit Wire Dress Form for Dressmaking Mannequin or Steampunk
In original box with paperwork. I have a wire dress form with it's stand, to assist you in dressmaking, or to liven up any room. It's all here except that it's missing the top shoulder piece, unfortunately it needs that to set up, but I got away with a molded plastic hanger stuck over the top, worked pretty well. I'm thinking you could screw a cap to the bottom of a wide wood suit hanger, that would snug that over the end of the rod, and it'd look pretty good. Think of it as a little personalization. Mold the wire form to your body. Then setup another you. I just kind of squished it around to set it up. It would look much better formed to a body. But a pretty cool vintage set up, even has a little arm at the bottom to pen in your hem. Metal clips and snaps hold the wire form together, wire hooks from the rod keep it in ... moreplace. Overall all the pieces except for the blue plastic base the legs slide into look in very good condition. That base piece though has crack over one of the leg slots. Should be an easy glue repair. The wire has a blue plastic coating, and looks perfect that I can tell. in the lowest position top of rod is at 38" Fully extended about 61" 3 legs that slide into position. Booklet instructions. A flyer inside that has the parts list, and another little booklet called a Measuring Chart. Instructions have some stains on the cover. This is an older dress form of good quality and with an amazing look. It is so unique and different from most of the others that I have seen. This has a wonderful slender body form with the measurements of 32" by 25" by 31. The shape is fabulous. It looks like it is made with a composition body and the bottom has a creamy colored fabric covering. The composition is over the formed heavy cardboard underneath. The stand is awesome and is metal and wood. It has the old paint that is a little chippy with a little rust. It is adjustable in height. Fairloom Sears Vintage Mannequin Dress Form Adjustable Steampunk Antique Sewing
Fairloom Sears Dressmaker's Mannequin. Sold by Sears Roebuck and Co only. Cast Iron Knob on top that turns to expand the form; adjustable for height; with cast-iron 4 footed base. My mother's much-used dressmaker's mannequin is fully functional with no missing parts. However, there are a few holes in the fabric. Those that are noticeable can be seen in the photos. There is a white spot on the bust and a small hole beneath it. There is also a hole on each shoulder and a couple of other holes that are too small to see in the photos. In addition the Sears label has been ripped and is partially missing. I've used a low starting price to reflect the less-than-perfect condition. The mannequin is boxed and ready to ship. Use as-is for dress-making or disguise the holes with grey marker for display.

NICE!! 1800’s to early 1900’s Antique Vintage ACME Dress form or Mannequin!
Up for your consideration is a nice late 1800’s to early 1900’s Antique Vintage dress form or mannequin that is marked“ACME FORMS” on the base as well as a tag by the neck. This is an Antique or Vintage Dress form and I am not for sure of the year it was made but I have seen similar ones listed as 1900 to 1914. The base is of cast iron and ornate it reads“ACME FORMS” PATD APLD FOR” It has all original arm socket& neck plates as well as a neck finial made of wood. The body is made of OLD paper mache and covered with a very old knit type fabric. This form has the original fabric with a size 36 stamped on the back. THE ONLY THING I AM NOT SURE IS ORIGINAL IS THE PAPER NAME TAG ON THE FRONT. I LOOKS ORIGINAL BUT IT IS SUCH GOOD SHAPE! THERE ARE A FEW WEAR HOLES IN THE FABRIC(PROBABELY FROM PINS) AND A DENT ON THE LOWER BACK OF THE PAPER MACHE ... moreBODY. PLEASE SEE PHOTO WITH WHITE PAPER MARKER FOR LOCATION OF DENT.
