I'm not sure of the date because I can't find any quite like it online. It's a more simple form then other Hall-Borchert's I've seen. I don't know if it's older than those or what. VINTAGE Retail/Sewing Composition Dress Form / Mannequin with Odd Metal Base
VINTAGE Very unusual retail dress form/ mannequin. We do not believe this was used for sewing. Only visuals. At first look. We thought this was paper mache’ as that is what it looks like. Upon 2 nd look. It appears to be a composition of some type on a rigid fabric covered base or silhouette. A separate metal section keeps the neck and arm areas at attention, so with this cover off, it looks like a robot of sorts. The base is a square one, non adjusting at 15” square and 8-9” tall. The shaft or pole that holds the top skeletal section and cover does adjust up or down some. Its at 63” tall now and it looks as if there may be a couple inched additional, and it goes shorter as well. However my arthritic hands cannot move the metal part at all, so if exact size height is necessary, this may not help you. If I stand right next to it we are about ... morethe same height at 5’ 3” The body part is 15-16“ across the shoulders and 33” 29” 37” The color presents in a pretty gold-bronze. The shell or form part is not perfect at all. But still works as designed. She has some noted wear at the one arm hole, a bit crushed and soft, but again still solid. One breast has a gash puncture-indent and she has composition flaking and loss over her cover. She sounds like she has a lot of issues. And well, she does…BUT she still works, retains that old school retail appearance and would make a wonderful display for an old dress or other show piece. I will ship this in 2 boxes as the base could damage the form in shipping. I have the larger of the 2 boxes estimated in the ebay window. Please understand there is a second box so what you see is not your total cost to ship. Up for consideration is a very nice old vintage dress form mannequin. Fully adjustable cloth covered formed body with metal base. Unique design. I haven't seen one quite like this before. The last photo shows underneath and inside how it looks and the bolts that can be adjusted. Little tabs on the outside all over that can be pressed to adjust the size easily. Will easily adjust down and base will fold together for easy storage, or use for a display. Great condition with no tears or breaks. Some discoloration to the fabric as it was partially covered in areas so there is color variation. Looks like the top has a bolt missing which could be easily be replaced. Base shows some paint loss and signs of wear. A really great dressmakers adjustable form or display piece in nice condition, offered at a great price! ON A CAST IRON BASE AND WHEELS WITH A NICE FRENCH LOOK. This is an older dress form with a great look. It is a woman's body with the metal cage bottom and ornate cast iron base with wood wheels. The cage skirt is flat metal. The metal base has a stunning ornate design with the old black paint and says Acme form. It has a wonderful shape and incredible look with the body is adjustable. Some of the metal has rust on it. It adjusts up and down with the metal and the body is adjustable. Although some of the hardware is rusty, but they still move. The top finial pieces work in helping with the adjustments. The brownish covered fabric has minor stains. A few tears, ... moreminor fading, dirt and wear, as I show. I think this adds to the vintage charm! It has the original sticker with the patent dates from 1908 to 1914. This has such a great look to it and would be perfect to display vintage rosaries. Vintage~ROSE~WOLF MANNEQUIN DRESS FORM WITH METAL CAGE~IRON BASE COLLASIBLE
This is a wonderful vintage and original Wolf dress form or mannequin with a burlap or muslin cover. Lower metal cage and iron base with wheels(castors) and silver metal neck! Stenciled marking: WOLF, Form Co. N.Y.C. with the number 8 on both sides of the neck and Model 1980 and the number 8 again at the bottom of the torso! Metal plates are screwed into each arm socket. This mannequin is in wonderful vintage condition with some age related staining to the fabric cover and the expected age related rusting to the cage and castors! The pedal adjustment(for height) is missing, however, you can adjust manually by lifting the torso! These vintage Wolf dress forms/mannequins are perfect to use for display! I am including the vintage millinery rose pictured in the first photo, but not the scarf used for display in the second photo.
