Up for auction is an antique. Victorian-style(1900s era) Hall-Borchert dress form. It is a size 1. It has the original label that says Hall Borchert, Size 1 and Teleskopic. It adjusts to a full 6 feet in height. It has a cast iron base with foot pedal and is on wheels. I have to admit that I do not know how the dress form opens or blooms out. Condition: The dress form is in fair++/good condition. It has several holes in the surface cloth along with discoloration. GREAT USED CONDITION! THIS FORM IS ADJUSTABLE! I don't have the exact measurements. This form is very adjustable. It has separate wire mesh sides that connect with buttons on the front and back. Each extending rod is adjustable so expanding the form any direction is possible by just pulling the wire mesh sides away from each other. Each rod has individual slots to lock in certain lengths for different measurements of the form. The form as it originally measured 30" tall. 35" around the waist and 40" around the chest. This listing is for a Singer Vintage Tru Shape Dress Form size A. The material covering the top and bottom is a purple/white tweed like fabric and part of the material is a moveable stretch fabric. The size information engraved on the attached metal label reads as follows: Bust- 32-40" Waist- 25-32" Hips- 35-43" The metal at the top of the frame shows the vintage age and also the bottom metal seen has the same vintage age, but all is secure and exceptionally sturdy which has the Singer quality. I have included with the frame a very vintage pin cushion in silver-toned metal shaped like an old shoe with velvet covering the stuffing to hold the pins. I would guess this cushion goes back to the 1940s and comes with original pins in the paper card. This dress form was made by Rite and has 16 adjustable sections. It is a size 1. Its adjustment ranges per the label are: Bust-32 to 42 inches. Waist-22 ½ to 32 inches. Hips-33 to 43 inches. It has a cast iron base with an adjustable height from 62 ½ inches high when adjusted all the way up and down to 35 inches high when lowered all the way down. The height measurements are to the knob on top. The knob on top is for the upper sections and the wing nuts on the inside are for the lower sections.
