This is a largely intact 60's vintage industrial freestanding adjustable dress form from My Double Co. Inc. Stanford, Ct. The form is comprised of metal mesh with detachable rods joined at various intersecting points. The form was designed to facilitate molding to the body of the wearer. Originally designed and patented by Frank S. Sanders in 1965. Retains the original adjustable height stand with extension pole. Dritz My Double Model B Vintage Adjustable Wire Dress Form w Stand Metal Mesh DESCRIPTION A vintage adjustable wire dress form Dritz Model B with stand in excellent condition. It has buttons up and down the front and back that allow the form to be adjusted to different sizes. The tag is fragile but still in tact. The rods that are supposed to hold the form in place are missing and it currently just hangs from the bar across the neck. Some of the tabs holding the wire together are corroded. Moreso toward the bottom of the form. It stands 49" from base to top and the form itself is 32" tall and 31.5" around the waist. A Dirtz. My Body Double Dress Form, Model B. This is from the 1940-1950's. The form is in excellent vintage shape. No rust. Has this great metal/wire flexible body that you can shape to your body with the included rods. Rods pull out and in to keep the form shape. Snaps down the front and back of body in excellent condition. Looks like it has been lightly used. Has the two original books with instructions and the original box of rods. Model B fits size 18-50. Wood base that you can make higher or lower by inserting the peg. Both the top and bottom of the wood base still retain an original My Double label. At full extension. Each extending rod is adjustable so expanding the form any direction is possible by just pulling the wire mesh sides away from each other. Each rod has individual slots to lock in certain lengths for different measurements of the form. The form as it originally measured 30" tall. 35" around the waist and 40" around the chest. The wire is very pliable and can form to many body shapes. There are 10 snaps on the front and on the back for easier dressing and undressing. This item has a patent number of 38986/67. A stand is also included in this product. Though it seems to be missing its pedestal to stand on. The stand also includes a hem marker. To be honest I'm not altogether sure how to set the stand up so it may be complete. Hopefully my detailed pictures can elaborate that for you. The bust stands 27" tall and 13" wide.
