I have had this for a little over twenty years and purchased it from a shop in a little town on Lake Michigan. I would guess that it is at least from the 40's and maybe older. The form will adjust to just about any shape I would think any one would need to make clothes. It will adjust down to 37" tall if you wanted to work on a table and upto 65 1/2" if you wanted to stand up while working. The base is cast iron and will be wrapped seperately you will just need to screw it back on. The off white shirt was used by the dress maker and does have holes that you see in the picture. Up for auction is an antique. Victorian-style(1900s era) Hall-Borchert dress form. It is a size 1. It has the original label that says Hall Borchert, Size 1 and Teleskopic. It adjusts to a full 6 feet in height. It has a cast iron base with foot pedal and is on wheels. I have to admit that I do not know how the dress form opens or blooms out. Condition: The dress form is in fair++/good condition. It has several holes in the surface cloth along with discoloration. One should does have a corner(about a 1 x2 inch corner) that is cracked and loose but still within the clock covering. The area under the shirt does have a replacement screw. Fairloom Sears Dressmaker's Mannequin. Sold by Sears Roebuck and Co only. Cast Iron Knob on top that turns to expand the form; adjustable for height; with cast-iron 4 footed base. My mother's much-used dressmaker's mannequin is fully functional with no missing parts. However, there are a few holes in the fabric. Those that are noticeable can be seen in the photos. There is a white spot on the bust and a small hole beneath it. There is also a hole on each shoulder and a couple of other holes that are too small to see in the photos. In addition the Sears label has been ripped and is partially missing. I've used a low starting price to reflect the less-than-perfect condition. The mannequin is boxed and ready to ship.
