What an amazing auction! This auction features a vintage set of 24 Wood Letterpress printers blocks. Sorry not a complete alphabet. Measure just about 1 inches tall. Came out of an estate auction. The blocks are dirty and I have not washed them off. Smells like old wood/musty, again I have not cleaned them. Great for a display or to use with your vintage letterpress! Antique 1898 Printing Press Wood Block Stamp Lady AD for Mens Collars Cuffs 1
Up for auction is an antique copper/brass 1898 printing press wood block stamp that was used for advertisement. Block measures 2” x 2 ¼” The block features a young lady standing behind a dressing curtain holding men’s collars in her outstretched hands. There are cuffs also along the side with more collars. There is a design around the lady at top and a design on the dressing curtain where she is standing. Please check pictures. This stamp is not marked but was purchased in a lot that was marked 1898 and Walter M. Dunk as the engraver. The box is very poor but marked American Publishing and Engraving Co. A rare and interesting item. This is a copper on wood printing block cut. It says"Chevrolet" above the iconic symbol. Very cool historical piece& i t is in very good condition.
