You are bidding on A WOODEN LETTERPRESS PRINTERS TYPE DRAWER THAT IS FILLED WITH MORE THAN 200 PIECES OF CASALON 10 PT. TYPE. This solid drawer measures 17.75" long. 9.5" wide and about 1.5" deep. It has a white plastic pull handle attached to the front and the previous owner attached a piece of oilcloth to protect the type. This can be pulled off without a problem. The drawer has three blocks inside it that have been drilled to hold the small type upright, so it is not configured like a typical letterpress printers drawer. The tray is labeled Casalon 10 pt. but I cannot verify that all the type is that font and size. This drawer came from printers studio where any other type could have been mixed in with this face and font. Antique 48 point"Cheltenham" metal letterpress marked with the"Keystone Foundry" mark(1888-1919) includes upper& lower case- numbers. Punctuation and symbols Pieces are quite dirty with some corrosion- I cleaned a few with Murphys Oil soap- I do not have proper cleaning solution. So stopped at that- The letters cleaned up quite well and did not have damage- I think most all will be that way when cleaned up The blocks of the upper case"Ts" have been cut down and also one"I" there are 2 of each In this case photos are the best description.
