Type is all wood. We have washed with mild soap and water to remove the worst of the dust/soil. Our lighting may distort the color of the wood. There is dried ink etc. on some letters. Set of letterpress wood type characters An exceptionnel Art Deco set of wooden printing characters in a very good condition. The characters are from Germany and we think. They should date from around 1920/1930. We have counted 170 pieces. We hope, that we did not make any mistake on counting, but you will see, what you get on the close-up photos below. Each character measures 72 mm: 2.83 inch. We have removed some dust. But did no full cleaning. Please be sure. That a carefull packaging will be done for the characters, so nothing will hurt the characters on transport. For detailed pictures see below. I recently purchases the old print stock of a long closed Indiana print shop. Check back from time to time as I will be listing loads of old alpha numeric print stock of all sizes and styles as well as stock of company logos.
