In another 20 years, this printers’ block would be an antique. These printers blocks were my grandfather’s and his work was impeccable. I was also a type-set printer, and my final jobs were for Kmart Sales Item signs in the store. Those blocks were mostly made of steel. This printers’ block is made of Zinc, Copper and Wood. The wood was most likely Cherry or Beechwood. This block measures approximately: 5/8 inches wide X 2 1/8 inches long X 7/8 inches deep. Stored in a Smoke and Pet Free Environment. Payment due within 4 days after end of auction date(per eBay) I ship once payment is received. Shipping rates are quoted for Continental US Only. Vintage Letterpress Wood Printers Block - Printing - AMERICAN FLAG - no stars
This is a wood block with copper image. The image measures 1.25" square and depicts the American flag with no stars. The printed image wasn't done on a press so it is not as clear as it would be if done that way. We are old time printers just jumping into the 21st century! Really we bought six newspapers in SW Minnesota and combined them in to three! Among the things that went along with the purchase were old presses. Inks, files, broken computers and reams and reams of stinky old paper that had been stored in an old warehouse! Most of the junk we just had to recycle or throw away. What we did save were these WONDERFUL pieces of history- both wood and metal type and other printers items. We will be listing them over the next few months so please take a look.
