Here is a rare lot of 56 copper/wood antique printing block plates from the Heald machine company from Worcester. Mass. They are all of actual Metal machinary they used in this factory. You can google this company for more info. I know i could get more money for these if i were to sell the separatly of put them in smaller lots but i do not have time to do so. Sizes vary, 90% of them are copper plates. Most of them are stamped with#s and or have the factory name on the side of the wood blocks. Some are used, some look unused. Nice lot of approx 140 blocks. Some metal but most are wood. They are in an early printer type tray of some sort. Could use a quick clean and some oil to bring out the color on the frame and some of the blocks.They are all loose so you can arrange and spell what you want. There is some tape residue on back of tray from masking tape that was on it.

Vintage Metal Copper & Wood Decorative Christmas Winter Theme Printing Blocks
Up for auction is a lot of Vintage Christmas or Winter Theme Printing Blocks. The lot contains 4 pieces which are metal(some I think are copper) attached to a wooden block. The longest has 3 pieces of metal attached and reads"Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" It also has a small elf with what appears to be holly leaves around him. It also reads"J. B. Lippincott Company" some tiny script writing that I can't make out. I did some research and found that J. B. Lippincott& Co. was an American Publishing House founded in Philadelphia. PA in 1836 by Joshua Ballinger Lippincott and was incorporated in 1885 as J. B. Lippencott Company. It measures approx. 13" by 1 1/2" The second is a reddish colored wooded block with what I believe is a copper& metal Star and Ornament attached. The Ornament appears to ... morehave a figure carved in the center. Possibly an elf. It measures approx. 6 3/4" by 2 1/2" The next is a blue or green wooden block with an Ornament made of copper and metal with an elf in the center. It measures approx. 2 1/4" by 1 3/8" The last is a wooden block with 1 piece of metal which depicts 3 elves. It measures approx. 6 1/4" by 2 3/4" These blocks are all in good used condition. 14 ASSORTED SOLID METAL LETTER/NUMBER TYPE PRINTING BLOCKS
14 metal print blocks. 5 numbers(1,3,8,5,0) 5 lower case letters(s,o,o,i,n) and 4 upper case letters(T,U,D,G) The numbers are 1" tall and the 1,3,8 have a groove at the base of the metal block.probably to set on a line-up ledge for printing. The 0 and 5 are a lighter colored metal(aluminum type look) and have cut-outs on the side similar to a cinder block look. Lower case letters all have indented groove and are 5/8" tall and various widths. The capital letterrs(U,D,G) are 1" with a groove the T is slightly smaller at just under 7/8" Nice printing blocks that show some patina and were most likely actively used.great decor.

This is a really nice set. I am somewhat confused though because the letters are inlaid(see pictures) so I guess. These were the mastercopy used to make printing sets? Maybe? They were purchased from an estate sale with two stencil cutters from the early 1900's. Overall in very good condition. They came with these little metal clasps things too- not sure if that goes with them or the machines but I already sold the machines. Lots and lots of letters. Some uppercase, some lowercase. UNKNOWN if entire alphabet is there. I am confident it is.because I went through it before but I just don't have the time to go through it again. I do remember it also had numbers and punctuation marks. Lots of repeat letters too and some screw up metal plates, and some blank metal plates too. Feel free to email with questions! Vintage 4 Piece Printing Press Metal and Wooden Blocks - Large
This listing is for a 4 piece printing press blocks. I'm not sure if they all go to the same Book or Periodical. But they are all Conservation related. One headline reads: What a few more Seasons will do to the Duck" This one has a series of pictures and measures 8 3/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Another headline reads: The Vote of the Great Outdoors" This one measures 9 inches tall and 5 3/4 wide. Another headline reads"Conservation Record of the Republican Party" This one measures 8 1/2 inches tall and a little over 3 inches in diameter. The last one has a headline that reads: Help take these Children off the Streets and give them a little health and happiness" It is the largest and measures 10 inches tall and 16 1/2 inches wide.
