Wood is in very good shape and there is some corrosion on metal fittings as seen in the photos. All three legs have telescoping extensions that measure approximately 30" long, made of wood with metal pointed tips and rubber feet. Weighs about 22 pounds. The round base is 4" in diameter. The tripod is made of wood with brass fixtures and looks almost primitive. There aren't any additional markings that indicate its age. Feel free to ask questions. Here is a great Dietzen surveying grade rod for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. This is a model 6520 Dietzen surveyor's elevation measuring grade rod. Nice older oak and metal(some brass) surveyor's measuring stick. The rod has Dietzen# 6520 noted on one side of the stick. The piece was made in the USA. The stick still has a nice face with yellow background on it. No split or missing pieces that we can ascertain. The measuring stick in compressed position is 54-3/8" tall. By 2.5" across, by 2.75" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Up for sale is a nice surveyers leveling rod- DIETZGEN- model 6520 It is made of wood and has brass hardware. It is in good vintage condition. With some minor signs of wear from normal use- light scratches and the initials BPA etched on one of brass pieces(see pictures) measurements are- 54" length- all folded up 1 5/8" wide 2 1/2" across Please see pictures of measurements
