I will say the transit tripod appears to be in good condition and functional with some surface scratches from normal use but no apparent damage. The transit legs telescope and are fully adjustable. It has a very interesting look. And should be either ready to be put back into use or used as a nice display piece maybe in an architect’s office or man cave. Vintage surveying equipment - 5ft Steel Tripod & 25ft fiberglass 3pc Grade Rod
Well. Unfortunately I hadn't found t hese items when I sold the ancient"David White" transit scope last year on eBay. I tried to find them but they had been stored apart from the scope. I believe that my father had picked them up as a set many years ago. However. I can't find the identification stamps or labels on either item. I AM sure that the David White transit mounted onto the tripod because I saw that myself. I think we had dated the transit at about 50 or 60 years old so that's my guess on these items. I know very little about surveying and equipment so the pictures will replace any more description I might have. Feel free to ask me any questions tho. The tripod legs are 5ft tall and composed of 2 steel. Or maybe heavy aluminum. Hollow bars. Leica GST120-9 Wooden Surveying Folding Tripod
You are viewing a used. But in good useable condition Leica wooden tripod model GST120-9. This tripod was used and has cosmetic scuffs from normal use. This tripod has one small splinter in part of the leg- IT IS A SMALL SPLINTER, IT IS NOT BROKEN IN REGARDS TO THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE TRIPOD. There are not issues with this tripod other wise. All legs extend and slide as they should. All points at the bottom of the legs are in great condition. This is a great quality tripod at an excellent price! Don't miss it! A brass top, and a threaded wooden cap. The rod is wood, steel, and brass. Both pieces have various scratches and stains, and the leather leg strap has dried out and is no longer functional.
