I have up for auction a large tripod that I'm guessing is for a surveyor. the legs do extend and they have the rubber tips on the end. The wood is not super heavy. So I don't know what kind it is. It looks as if everything is in good shape. It measures 30 inches tall before pulling the legs out. The bands that are around the legs look like leather but are a thin sheet metal.
