Vintage surveying equipment - 5ft Steel Tripod & 25ft fiberglass 3pc Grade Rod
Well. Unfortunately I hadn't found t hese items when I sold the ancient"David White" transit scope last year on eBay. I tried to find them but they had been stored apart from the scope. I believe that my father had picked them up as a set many years ago. However. I can't find the identification stamps or labels on either item. I AM sure that the David White transit mounted onto the tripod because I saw that myself. I think we had dated the transit at about 50 or 60 years old so that's my guess on these items. I know very little about surveying and equipment so the pictures will replace any more description I might have. Feel free to ask me any questions tho. The tripod legs are 5ft tall and composed of 2 steel. Or maybe heavy aluminum. Hollow bars. For your consideration I have a Vintage Chicago Steel Transit Survey Measuring Rule. This rule is in very good condition. It expands out to 12 feet total. Its numbers are vibrantly colored so that they are easy to read. All numbers are intact and in good condition. I noticed a little bit of minor scuffs along the numbers but it in no way takes away from the functionality of this piece. The top of the rule features a metal bracket that reads" Chicago Steel.
