Hotplate / Magnetic Stirrer, circular top, steel by Scilogex MS-H-S (MC2F006199)
I bought this last year and only used it a handful of times. There are no problems with it. I'm just getting a digital one as a gift and that's the only reason I'm selling it. There are some very slight surface scratches from normal use and cleaning on the steel plate itself(see pictures) Besides that, it's like new. I really only used it about 6 times. Temperature goes up to 340 C(644 F) Magnetic stir can go up to 1500 RPM. It has been very reliable for me. The temperature is very reliable and steady as well as the stirring speed. Magnet is very strong. It easily spins large stir bars from 6+ inches above the hotplate. Those were the two things I was worried about before I bought it and I was pleasantly surprised. Larger format Corning digital magnetic stirrer, good for laboratory or hobby use. The Corning PC-610D has a 10” x 10” glass-ceramic top, great for stirring solutions in small to large beakers and bottles, using a range of magnetic stir bars(I tested up to 3" Dial setting provides speeds from 60– 1150 RPM, but maximum speed will depend on on viscosity and size of stir bar. The stirrer features a digital stirring control to monitor and regulate stirring speed. Coupling of the stir bar to the stir motor magnet is monitored by the device and steady operation is indicated by a steady(non-blinking) reading on the digital readout. The digital display will display your setting as a blinking number as ... morethe stirrer ramps up to it's set point. Rubber feet stabilize the unit. A mount at the back of the unit for a ring stand rod will allow for attachment of lab clamps. Etc. Made in the USA. The stir plate is in good working condition and average cosmetic condition. Some spills of liquid look to have de-laminated some of the paint on the base and on the adhesive plastic face on the front of the unit(see pictures) I function tested this unit with a 2-liter beaker using a 1/4" x 1.5" stir bar and easily got to 1000 RPM with a nice vortex(see picture) Testing with a heavy 1/2" x 3" stir bar. Stir speed was limited to about 500 RPM(see picture) True to the manufacturers statements, a f lat bottom vessel performs best- a bottom with curvature or molded bumps will limit the speed as the device regulates itself to maintain magnetic coupling. As such. Higher viscosity solutions or larger stir-bars require slower stirring RPMs in order to remain coupled. Who are you buying from?
