Heating up quickly and evenly. This stir plate item is clean and in ok physical shape with little staining and some chips on the top surface. The base of the unit is in GREAT shape with no dents dings and just a little paint chipping. I do offer a 14 day warranty against malfunction of the stirrer and hotplate. The metal surface has some stain but is not effect its functionality. The magnetic stirrer spins at several different speeds and runs strong. The heating also works well and heats the plates surface up in few minutes. Both indicator lights for heating and stirring also work well and indicate correctly. Both ran simultaneously without problems. Stirrer is working eventhough light for the stirrer is off when heat is on. Both Stir and heat stay on the whole time I test. Has on/off variable speed dial and doesnt start spinning until the dial reaches 5 but it does go slower then once you back off the dial. But with some paint chipping as a result of delamination from the cast metal base. Other than the cosmetics of the paint, this looks to be a lightly used unit that is very clean inside and out. The 11-500-108S has a large 10.5” x 10.5” ceramic top which resists chemicals and scratches and it is in excellent condition. Dial setting provides speed adjustment. Rubber feet stabilize the unit. The back of the base supports a 1/2" rod. This stirrer is great for use with solutions in beakers. Flasks, and large containers like carboys and containers up to several gallons. My tests indicated stable mixing with stir bars up to 3 inches ... morein length at high speed settings, but likely even bigger ones could be used. For sale I have a Fisher Scientific Flexa-Mix Model 16 magnetic stir plate in near mint condition. The stir plate is used but fully functional and in perfect working order. This item has only very minor light scuffing on the surface of the stir plate that can be seen in the pictures. The body of the unit is in near mint condition with almost no signs of wear or defects in the finish. The surface of the plate measures 5.5" x 5.5" and has a screw clamp at the back.
