Item recovered locally. Tested good and sold AS IS. This auction is for a Super Nice Magnestir Model S8290 Distributed by American Scientific Products. I don't know if this item is new or used, but definitely looks new, but selling as a used item(I turned it on to test) If I listed it as new, you wouldn't even know it might be used. The cord still has its original kinks in it, like it was tied up with a twisty tie. The case is spotless compared to others I have seen on Ebay that have chemical spills all over the case. Suction cups on bottom of unit are like new, and the bottom case still has a rainbow color to it, like it is brand new. Came with a small tobacco type pouch still tied to the cord, and inside were two sealed stirrer magnets. Plugged unit in and turned the ON/OFF switch to on, set the sealed larger magnetic stirrer on ... moretop of unit and slowly turned the knob. The magnetic stirrer started moving in a circle, and the more I cranked the knob, the more the stirrer spun(see picture 8) The stirrer was still in the sealed bag and I cranked it all the way to fast and the plastic swung up like a helicopter and the stirrer flew up in the air! Works like a champ. Knob speed goes from 0 to FAST in increments. Super nice unit that is probably new, but selling as used. Buyer pays shipping cost. We do not have the equipment to verify the actual RPM but we did test this unit using the very scientific method of inserting an AA size battery into one of the test tube holding clips and watching the rotator rotate. We also have a much more slowly rotating tube rotator that turns the tubes on a horizontal access rather than a vertically oriented disk as is the case here. Other than possibly some kind of internal adjustments that might be made. The one speed is set and fixed.
