We turned the heat to"HIGH" and found that the ceramic top heated up quickly. It maxed out our infrared thermometer at 700F. We attempted to turn the stirrer on by hand. However. Adjusting the speed adjustment was very difficult requiring a pair of pliers to turn the knob. We placed a screw on top of the plate and found that the stirring speed control worked appropriately. We guarantee this device to only perform as we have described. Given the issue with the speed control knob. We must sell this device as is. Here we have a very nice looking CORNING PC-351 MAGNETIC STIRRER WITH A HOTPLATE AND A 7"x6" CERAMIC COATED STIR TOP. This unit is in GREAT physical condition NO DAMAGE AT ALL ON THE BASE and minimal staining on the top AND it works as good as it looks. Heating up quickly and evenly and stirring perfectly at all speeds. I do offer a 14 day satisfaction guarantee and shipping will be $16.50 USPS in the USA or my actual costs worldwide.

LOT of(4) Corning Ceramic Top Hot Plate Magnetic Stirrers PC-351& PC-353* Tested This auction is for a LOT of(4) Corning Ceramic Top Magnetic Stirrers in good condition. Three are model PC-351 Hotplate Stirrers. And the fourth unit is a model PC-353 Stirrer. Former university property. Very clean other than some stains from prior use. All have been tested and are definitely functional usable units, except for a few minor quirks as described in the notes. Variable speed magnetic stir motors work on all four, as do the heaters& thermostats, unless noted otherwise below. Pictures show the stirring vortexes of each unit, when set to max speed. The heat& stir indicator lights operate on all units, and power cables are in good shape, flexible and without any insulation damage. I've named these Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green in the ... morenotes, with pictures showing each in that order of color, and I've marked their names on the bottom of each unit, so you'll know which one is which when you receive them. All pictures are of actual items being sold. Kimax beaker not included. Will ship via FedEx within the US, quality packed& insured. NOTES: Red: Stir motor works fine full range. Slow through fast, but the knob needs to be rotated slowly for some reason, when adjusting speed. Blue: The heater doesn't work. The lamp comes on when set to heat. And I can hear the thermostat click on& off, but the plate only warms up extremely slightly. May be a simple fix, I didn't investigate further. Yellow: Heat indication light is always on. Even with heater set to off. The heater itself works OK throughout range, and turns off when selected, the light just doesn't go out. Green: Works fine. I have up for bid a Corning PC-351 Laboratory Hot Plate and Magnetic Stirrer. Everything is in working order. It is 120 Vac-615 Watts-50/60 HZ. It heats up pretty fast and the stirrer works just fine. It comes with its power cord. The ceramic plate measures 7 1/4" X 6" and has some discoloration from use. There is a black mark on one corner. Before we list an item we power test it if it requires power. If it is a device that we can test we will do so and we will state it in our above caption. All devices that require a special device or specialty experience that we do not have, our testing begins and end with power testing only. After testing we inspect for physical damage or inconsistencies.
