Mfg By: Ramco Model: 30 30" Single Head Wide Belt Sander Serial No: 302 Main Drive Motor: Baldor 20 HP. 1725 RPM, 208-220/440V, 3 Phase Conveyor Motor: 3/4 HP. 1725 RPM, 208-220/440V 3 Phase Sanding Belt Size: 29" wide X 84" long Machine Weight: 2.850 Lbs. machine weight only, not actual shipping weight) The sander is currently wired for 230V so we could test it. But the main motor starter is a size 2 and not rated for the 20 HP"full working load" on 230V. The sander will need to be run on 440V with the included starter, or you will need to upgrade the starter to a size 3 if you plan to run it on ... more230V. The main drive motor. Sanding rolls, conveyor and conveyor motor run fine, with no excess noise that would indicate bearing problems. The main drive motor has a brake mounted on it, but it was disconnected by the previous owner and we have not attempted to hook it back up. It is a Sterns brand brake and parts should be available if you choose to hook it back up. Also, the forward/ reverse drum switch that controls the conveyor is a little"loose" in the forward position. If you push it all the way forward, it will not start the motor, but if you stop it just shy of all the way, the motor runs fine. May need adjusting or possibly new contacts. The main issue with this sander is with the pneumatic belt tracking system. This sander has an"Air Jet" style tracking system consisting of an adjustable pneumatic relay and 3 regulators. We have been unsuccessful at getting the tracking system to work properly. It will not actuate with just the sanding belt breaking the air stream. But if you stick something stiff against the air jet hole, basically blocking it, the cylinder will actuate. It's possible that it may be adjusted wrong through the regulators or re

Up for your bidding consideration is this lightly used JET JWB 1632-1 wide belt commercial professional open end belt sander. This machine is in very good to excellent physical condition and appears to have been used very little. It did not have a sanding belt. So I could not test its operation on an actual piece of wood, but the machine does start and run. It is a 230 volt single phase machine, so it will work virtually anywhere, including any home wood shop. I looked the machine over and found no obvious damage, and it appears to be ready to use once a new sanding belt is installed. The paint finish shows minor wear, including some minor chips and scratches. The rollers all appear to be in good condition and roll nicely. MAX VS1 Oscillating Spindle Sander (Single-Phase Motor)
I completely refurbished this MAX VSI spindle sander and I did not cut any corners whatsoever. I used MAX components for all the replacements parts. MAX is still operating and producing this sander but I believe they are owned by another company( possibly Tannewitz? All the bearings were replaced and I used 2 very expensive oil seals for the oil bath as well. T he oil bath really did its job and prevented any wear as the internal gear mechanism looks and functions as if brand new. Additionally. I replaced a number of small items like the oil bath window. Brass air vent, etc. The finish is Hammerite which is tough as nails and looks absolutely beautiful. The sander was stripped back to bare metal and the finish was professionally applied. I put a 1HP 220 Volt, Single-Phase motor in the machine. This GE motor was brand new and sells for around ... more$350- it is an industrial quality motor meant for very rugged conditions. Also. If you look closely you will see a few nice details- like stainless steel bolts with brass washers and an ultra nice REES pushbutton start/stop switch. In short. This is not only a beautiful looking sander in showroom condition but a functional powerhouse as well. The MAX is absolutely whisper quiet and the motor is strong enough to handle whatever you can throw at the machine. This sander utilizes a long#2 Morse taper with safety loc threads. The spindles are in great condition. I have the 3 throat plate and all the spindles except for the 1/4" and 3/4" I have a Grizzly G1071 Oscillating Spindle Sander and I can tell you that the quality of this MAX is just leagues above the Grizzly. The MAX is made in America and sells for just under $6k new. I am selling the MAX because I would like to do more refurbishing work. I really enjoyed the process and would like to restore some more MAX spindle sanders and disk sanders- maybe even some old jointers and bandsaws as well.
