Add a 12" Disc to a Rockwell 6 x 48 Belt Sander * Here's how.......
Here we have a Rockwell 6 x 48 inch Belt 12 inch Disc Sander( or. Most of it, anyway! This is a project I started. Was gonna make this for myself. But.I got too much stuff! Enough stuff. That I can actually convince myself that I don't really need this. What I do need. Though, is more room in the shop. What this listing includes, what's shown in the photos, are the parts that you'd need to add a 12" disc. To your existing 6 x 48 belt sander. All of the associated parts, shown here. Are in top condition! Stripped. De-Burred, Primed, and Painted! Bearings are Great, and everything turns nice, and true! It's All Here! The Disc. And it's Complete Guard. The longer Arbor. And longer key way. The Belt Guard. The Base. All the correct fasteners and setscrews. all except the table, and trunnions, which I do not have. You ... moredo. However, see them pop up now. And again, on eBay; or Craigslist. But. The rest is here. The Arbor pulley is not a Rockwell. But it is an Excellent quality Steel pulley. I could be mistaken. But I believe this would be the correct size(2- 3/4" for this sander; with the 3450 rpm motor. The older Delta sanders would use a 4" inch pulley with a 1725 rpm motor. I think that would work also. And if you'd like a different Arbor pulley. Let me know. I have a bunch of pulleys around, and I will do my best to accommodate you. Of course. The easiest conversion would be possible if the belt sander you have now is on the enclosed base with the riser. That would be a direct swap. There's no reason. Though, that this couldn't be set up on nearly any existing stand; or bench! I'll add some measurements. And a photo of the underside. This is fairly heavy. And would have to be strongly packaged. I don't charge a handling fee, and use recycled packaging materials to keep costs down. So. Whatever the calculator tells you is what it costs me. And I do pass any discount I may receive on to you. Early Delta Milwaukee Homecraft Belt-driven 8.5" Disc Sander Model # 31-200
For sale is an early Delta Milwaukee Homecraft Model No. 31-200. 8.5 inch belt-driven disc sander. Only the early Homecraft machines had serial number tags and this style of tag was used on Delta machines until the late 1940's. Comes exactly as shown in great working order. You will need to add a motor and I recommend a 1/3 to 1/2 HP motor that runs at 1725 RPM. The sander was spot-painted with silver paint. I cleaned up the rust on the table and the table surface has some light surface pitting. The sander will ship to you partially disassembled so nothing gets broken. Its fairly easy to take apart and reassemble.
