But the main motor starter is a size 2 and not rated for the 20 HP"full working load" on 230V. The sander will need to be run on 440V with the included starter, or you will need to upgrade the starter to a size 3 if you plan to run it on ... more230V. The main drive motor. Sanding rolls, conveyor and conveyor motor run fine, with no excess noise that would indicate bearing problems. The main drive motor has a brake mounted on it, but it was disconnected by the previous owner and we have not attempted to hook it back up. It is a Sterns brand brake and parts should be available if you choose to hook it back up. Also, the forward/ reverse drum switch that controls the conveyor is a little"loose" in the forward position. If you push it all the way forward, it will not start the motor, but if you stop it just shy of all the way, the motor runs fine. May need adjusting or possibly new contacts. The main issue with this sander is with the pneumatic belt tracking system. This sander has an"Air Jet" style tracking system consisting of an adjustable pneumatic relay and 3 regulators. We have been unsuccessful at getting the tracking system to work properly. It will not actuate with just the sanding belt breaking the air stream. You are considering a 6" X 48" Double Sided Edge Sander. We believe the manufacturer of this sander is Levigatrice. Made in Italy. Model or Type Number 123 S 7304. There is also another tag on the sander with the name Fumagalli R on it. An internet search does not show this name as being a woodworking machinery manufacturer. Possibly a distributor? This sander is used. But is in good operating condition. Body and moving parts show normal wear, scratches etc. from use. Both tables can be raised up or down and both will tilt. This sander is missing the"end" table commonly seen around the tail pulley for sanding radius. Inserts, a file box full of sanding sleeves of all different sizes, everything in the picures related to the spindle sander. Was used in a wood pattern shop for most if not all of it's life. I bought this from my employer when our pattern shop closed. It was in daily service when disconected and worked very well. I believe the weight is about 650 pounds.
