You are considering a Ramco Model 30. 29" wide Single Head Wide Belt Sander. This sander is used and in overall fair condition. It will need some TLC to be back in full operating condition. Sander is being sold AS IS. Mfg By: Ramco Model: 30 30" Single Head Wide Belt Sander Serial No: 302 Main Drive Motor: Baldor 20 HP. 1725 RPM, 208-220/440V, 3 Phase Conveyor Motor: 3/4 HP. 1725 RPM, 208-220/440V 3 Phase Sanding Belt Size: 29" wide X 84" long Machine Weight: 2.850 Lbs. machine weight only, not actual shipping weight) The sander is currently wired for 230V so we could test it. But the main motor starter is a size 2 and not rated for the 20 HP"full working load" on 230V. The sander will need to be run on 440V with the included starter, or you will need to upgrade the starter to a size 3 if you plan to run it on ... more230V. The main drive motor. Sanding rolls, conveyor and conveyor motor run fine, with no excess noise that would indicate bearing problems. The main drive motor has a brake mounted on it, but it was disconnected by the previous owner and we have not attempted to hook it back up. It is a Sterns brand brake and parts should be available if you choose to hook it back up. Also, the forward/ reverse drum switch that controls the conveyor is a little"loose" in the forward position. If you push it all the way forward, it will not start the motor, but if you stop it just shy of all the way, the motor runs fine. May need adjusting or possibly new contacts. The main issue with this sander is with the pneumatic belt tracking system. This sander has an"Air Jet" style tracking system consisting of an adjustable pneumatic relay and 3 regulators. We have been unsuccessful at getting the tracking system to work properly. It will not actuate with just the sanding belt breaking the air stream. Jet 2 head 37" wide belt sander. 20 hp and 15hp motors run heads. 2 hp motor runs feed table. 1/2 hp motor controls table height. 3 phase. Everything works properly. My 3 phase wiring was not large enough to handle this machine. I currently have it running in my neighbor's shop and need to get it out of there. TimeSaver 37 x 75 one head wide-belt sander
Here for your consideration is a TimeSaver wide-belt sander. It has seen use in three cabinet and door shops since its manufacture in the USA in 1983. This is a much stouter machine that the later TimeSaver machines that were made in Taiwan. This sanders has a 20 HP primary motor with a 1 1/2 HP conveyor drive motor. The sander motors are 3 phase and will work with a proper phase converter. A heavy duty 6-caster dolly is included with this sander. It allows one person to move the machine about and keep it clean underneath. This dolly has been credited with this machines longevity as a productive machine in the shop because not being bolted to a floor allowed it to move with vibration and not shake when out of balance. A veritable cash cow when up and running not to mention making any shop more productive. This machine has been owned by me ... moresince 1987 and in conjunction with the production of custom cabinets. It has seen proper maintenance on a regular basis. When disconnected it was still running perfectly. It is being offered for sale as is. Where is. The cost of freight to your location would depend entirely on the distance from Bayfield, Colorado.
