Great smaller Industrial looking piece. Made sometime between 1924 and 1950. This is branded. And is a nice mix of wood and solid metal. Says"Ideal School Supply Co. Chicago IL" also marked Ingento No 3 on the arm. Someone wanting a small project could take the ruler section apart. Lightly sand and stain the wood to really make this stand out. It is a good size for display. But probably could be easily used as well. It is an older model. So it DOES NOT HAVE a guard on the blade. Keep away from children. Nice looking item that reminds me of middle school and high school. But has a certain vintage office feel also. Size: about 11" wide. 14" arm length, 3" tall closed. This is a vintage 1940s Paper Cutter. This is very heavy duty with a cast iron arm which is spring loaded to stay up. Weighs in over 22 pounds. The blade is sharp and sounds very crisp when cutting. This measures 19x18" and sits on a painted wood base. This is in great shape for its age with only minimal wear and some paint loss on the handle. The handle looks like a pair of brass knuckles. VTG 6 1/2" GUILLOTINE PAPER CUTTER MONTGOMERY WARD #6 CAST IRON & WOOD EX COND
This is an antique cast iron and wood guillotine paper cutter made by the Montgomery Ward Co. and is marked that way. The body of it is 6 1/2 inches by 7 inches and the cutter is about 11 1/2 inches long. It has a few paint drops and some scratches but I did not see any other damage. I think it needs some adjustment on the paper cutter. I did finally cut some papers but had to push the cutter close to the board or else it would just bend the paper. After you open the blade. It catches on the wood on the way down and must be pulled away slightly to go all the way down. I have not tried to adjust it. There is free shipping to the Continental US. I have for your consideration a wonderful antique cast iron guillotine paper cutter. The paper cutter was made by The Washburn MFG Co. Kokomo Ind and is a No 10 as marked on the back. The front ruler is marked WASHBURN SEPARATOR GRID CUTTER No. 10. The paper cutter is made of entirely cast iron and metal. No wood at all. The paper cutter has the original red paint. There is some minor light rust and worn paint as to be expected for the age of this item. The paper cutter does work but could use a little sharpening. There are no breaks or repairs that I see. Paper cutter would be perfect for Scrapbooking. Please review all photos to determine exact condition. The paper cutter weights about 9 pounds and measures about 11 1/2" at its widest. Cast Iron Paper Cutter - Guillotine (Refurbished)
For sale is a small. Cast iron paper cutter(or guillotine) manufactured by the"Michael Lith Sales Corp" Blade guard is stamped"Made in France" Max cut width is 8.75" and probably weighs around 50 lbs. or less. The cutter was significantly rusty. And paint was flaking off so I chose to fully clean and repaint. The blade needs to be sharpened. And is currently not installed on the cutter(for safety and to allow for sharpening) Additionally you'll need a cutting stick approximately 11/16" x 11/16" x 9" an oak dowel was previously used) The handle that brings down the blade moves away from the cutter. And therefore the guillotine will need to be fixed to a sturdy table surface. It does have a very simple safety latch(attached to the handle- can be see in the photos) however you may want to manufacture ... morea blade guard that prevents a complete drop down of the blade as additional safety. I would hold onto it. However, I really don't have a use for a paper cutter this small. Would be great for individuals with small table top presses, or craft studios needing a tiny guillotine. Vintage Industrial Shear Paper Cutter Cutting Machine Cast Iron Table Legs
This piece has some age to it- it was made by the T.W. C.B. Sheridan Co. Manufacturers of bookbinding equipment. This company was active from the 1860s to the 1950s. The tabletop measures 47 1/2" L x 36 1/2" W x 30 1/2" H. There is a 1 1/2" wide(1 7/8" wide at the bottom) dovetail slot running perpendicular to the blade, presumably for a sliding guide, which is not included. The base measures 45 1/4" L x 33 5/8" W x 29 1/2" T- this machine could be perfect for a print shop or business, but the cast iron base could also be salvaged for use in any number of projects. There is a broken piece that appears to be part of a guard system- it is included with the item, however, there may be more pieces missing. The handle sticks out about 15" and the counterweight another 20" or so. Lastly, someone ... morehas added a hinged tabletop extension that is also included. Milton Bradley Studio Guillotine Paper Cutter 10x10.5" Wood Base Cast Iron Arm
Milton Bradley. Studio, guillotine paper cutter. The cutting surface is 10 1/2" wide by 10" long. The base is made out of solid wood with a natural varnish. Ruler along the top edge and a grid in 1/2" cubes on the main body of the surface. There is no finger guard, no latch hook lock. The blade will not stay in place if you're not holding it up. Weighs 5 pounds. This is an old. Antique paper cutter. My best guess is that it dates to the teens, circa 1915. Milton Bradley goes back to 1860. A ll questions are welcomed. Thank you for looking.
