So much more effective than scissors One small issue(pictured) someone ran a razor blade across the top and made a scratch- IT DOES NOT AFFECT THE FUNCTIONALITY AT ALL(the paint will not peel) Obviously was not used heavily- Was from a home office Very sharp and smooth operation Does the same exact thing a new one does- Just for a lot less and of such higher quality! These are quality cutters here that were made in the early 1990s- I like how heavy the base is(6lbs) makes it nice and stable. Yet easy to move about the home! DETAILS: The trimmer can cut up to 15" x 12" with preprinted 1/2" squares with an upper mark for metric measurements. Vintage guillotine style paper cutter/trimmer. Made by Trimmer MFG, Company, Portland Oregon. Whatever was printed above the company name has been rubbed off as can be seen in close-up photo. It measures approx. 16" w x 22" L total, surface including blade and ruler at top is 15 3/4" x 15 1/2" It has been used and does show use wear. There is some rust on metal edge, and on spring of handle, maybe a few more surface rust spots elsewhere. Handle works smoothly, has safety latch for when in closed position.
