Razer Hydra Motion Sensor Controller w/extra sticks! Great with Rift!
Up for auction is a barely used Razer Hydra motion controller. This was a gift and I only put a couple of hours on it. The unique thing about this listing is that it includes an extra pair of the grips that are ideal for using for Rift positional tracking while allowing you to have another set you can plug in when you want to use it normally without messing with the one velcro'd to your Rift! When I opened the package originally one of the handles had something rattling around inside it and did not work properly. Razer sent me a new pair of handles under warranty but they didn't want the old ones back so I opened up the defective stick and found that the internal weight had broken loose and simply pulled a little plug out. I removed the weight and plugged the wire back in and it seemed to work just fine so now this Hydra has a spare ... moreset of handles. This worked out great for me because the only thing I used the Hydra for was to velcro to my Rift strap for positional tracking using a free head tracking program(google it. It's easy) so the lighter weight grip was perfect and also I figured i could leave the lightweight stick on the Rift and use the other pair for games. I never wound up really using it much which is why I'm selling it now that money has become a bit tight. So one of the grips in the spare set has had the weight removed. But works just fine. Weight could easily be added to it but actually it's barely noticeable. It took me a minute of playing with them in my hands today to figure out which set was which. This would be the perfect Rift for someone else wanting to use it for positional Oculus Rift SDK tracking for the reasons I mention above. Feel free to send any questions! I should be able to send you a link to some information on using the Hydra for positional head tracking. In my case used for War Thunder so the guide is on their forums somewhere. It should work with any program that works with freetrack/tracknoIR etc.
