For your consideration is a Delta Homecraft lathe. This unit is not plug and play- it needs a little work before it will be usable. The cast iron base shows some rust. I cleaned the top surface and found an area that looks like it has a run in with something acidic. This shouldn't affect the usability. But just looks a little ugly. The head stock looks ok and spins freely- it has a spur center in it. The tail stock is rusted/frozen up and doesn't want to move. I added some lubricating oil, but it's stuck pretty good- the ball crank is missing and it looks like the previous owner had it in a vise because there is some damage to the housing and the relief line on the side appears to have been pried on. I do not believe that it has been used much. If at all. I have no idea of the age of the lathe. The plywood baseplate is 24“ x 13“ Equipped with a Dayton 6K778B 1/3 Hp. 115v AC Motor. The motor and headstock spindle are equipped with 6 step aluminum pulleys. Speeds stated by manufacturer to be 450 to 5700 rpm. The belt is a Gates 3M500. The headstock has a 1/4“ collet to accept standard pen mandrels. The tailstock has a live center. The pen mandrel is not included. Equipped with a diamond shaped cutting tool. Branded PHASE II E4-C2. The user can specify the cut depth via the handwheel. The servomotor driven cutter will advance across the work until is stopped by a limit switch. There ... moreis a limit switch on both ends. Each left or right trip across the work requires a reset of the cut depth and a press of the red START button. The dust hood around the cutter is designed to accept a 2-1/4“ shop vac hose. The plywood base has discoloration and staining on the underneath side. I do not know the cause. It is still sound. this lathe is in perfect shape. runs perfectly" and I just replaced all the belts. has lots of very expensive extra's, including a complete duplicating system. probably worth as much as the lathe itself. very nice large safety off button. Vintage Craftsman Wood Lathe 12 X 45 Upgraded 1/2 HP Motor
Offering this Craftsman Wood Lathe. Capacity is 12" and the bed is 45" long. I'm not sure of when it was made. Probably in the 1950's or 60's. It works fine. The lathe is made of all cast iron and there is nothing broken or cracked. The stand is welded steel angle iron. The stand is pretty heavy and since it is welded. It is not practical to disassemble it. So, I am thinking you will want to buy it without the stand. Although I don't want it either. So, if you want it, it will be yours. When I got the lathe. The electrical was old and frayed, so I replaced all with new wire. I have upgraded the motor to 1/2 HP. It starts and runs promptly and quietly. There is a section on the video that shows you how quiet the motor is. The tool rest had a bar of steel welded on to lengthen it. I removed the welds and made the bar ... morebolt on. The step pulleys provide a range of spindle speeds. The slowest is 630 rpm. The middle one is 1080 and the fastest one is 1725. Other speeds are possible by running the belt slightly crooked. The spindle and tail stock each have#2 Morse Taper. The through hole in the spindle is 9/16" The spindle is threaded with 1" x 10 tpi. RH on the side with the bed and LH on the back side. I have made a video of the lathe running and working. You will be able to see and hear all that I am writing about. Go to Shipping: There are some options here. You will have to choose which option you want. The difference is primarily shipping cost because the lathe is VERY HEAVY. The lathe alone weighs 64 pounds. The motor alone weighs 39 pounds. Antique J&A Fay & Co. Wood Lathe
This item is a pick up only sale. I will not ship! This is a very old J&A Fay& Co. wood lathe that has been in my family for 4 generations. Patent date reads July 16-Aug 18, 1867. I have no use for it now and it is time to make space. The tool rest measures 22 7/8" wide, the bed is 76" long total. The unit measures 48" tall, 41 1/2" max space between the head stock and the tail stock. The head stock moves as it should. The cone shape pulleys on the head stock have 3 sizes and the wood portions have some cracks as seen in the pics. The Pulleys spin easily and the side of this unit has a metal bracket for a motor to be mounted. The antique wood box with some of the original tools are included. 4 Wood Lathe Centers MT2 Spur Cup Screw Live Fits Delta Rockwell Craftsman
This is for the 4 wood lathe centers pictured. These were used on a delta wood lathe but might also fit other brands such as craftsman. These shows age. Use, and wear. Normally I don't sell the centers but I felt that someone might be able to use them. The spur has some small chips on the teeth and the cup is bent around some of the edges as though it had been hit with a hammer plus the tip is worn down from use. Atlas wood lathe model 7090 headstock with pulley and belt and screws to hold it
I am parting out an old Atlas Press Company wood lathe. Model 7090 Serial# 008209 This listing is for the lathe headstock with pulley and frayed belt and 4 screws to hold it on. The pulley is 4 step with indexing holes on the back. It is a little loose on the shaft. Perhaps a shim would fix that. The little indexing pin does not have a point on it so it doesn't go into the holes. Perhaps it can be repointed some how. The bearings seem to be snug and turning the pulley is rather stiff. But it hasn't been run for years. I think it will limber up if ran for awhile. Selling as is with no returns. I weighs 9 pounds before boxing. I estimate 3 pounds box and packing so.
